Wheels and brakes comparisson-2015 Corvette C7 Z06 versus 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R (Ford can do it, why can't General Motors?)

The marketing bullshit of +General Motors can anyone's head spin PERMANENTLY.  The term "most track capable ever" gets thrown around quite a bit and in the end, it is pretty fucking hard if not outright impossible what that term really means.

Actually, there are THREE subsets of this term:

1. The most track capable CORVETTE EVER
2. The most track capable CAMARO EVER
3. The most track capable +General Motors car ever

So what does this really mean?  Is the most track capable Corvette equal to number 3 or is it the Camaro Z28?  Well, that all depends who you ask... If you ask +Tadge Juechter , it is the C7 Z06 with Z07 option but if you ask Al Oppenheiser, he will insist it is Camaro Z28.  Maybe these two can arm wrestle over this and come up with a single answer?

In reality, that "most track capable ever" does not mean jackshit because it is referencing GM cars only and it somehow skips the previous Corvette C6 Z06 that somehow still manages to maintain its edge over both of these newest cars IF someone really is serious about that track worthiness...

However, JUST ASSUMING that the newest Z06 is indeed the most track capable GM car ever, there is a serious problem with this claim and it is not related to the car's inability to complete a solid track run without overheating the engine or transmission or blowing the motor altogether.

That problem is related to the biggest claim Juechter continues to make: the value of the car, at the price it commands, as compared to the newest Mustang GT350R.

With the Z07 option and nothing else at all, the cheapest the Z06 can be had is 88 grand.  At this price, the car comes with ceramic brakes on all four corners but it also comes with CAST WHEELS which really shows how much bullshit any of these MOST TRACK CAPABLE EVER claims are.

And here is the 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350R... The car is priced at 72k, with not just flat plane crank engine but also with STANDARD CARBON FIBER WHEELS.  For another 3k, with the addition of the track pack, the front carbon ceramic brakes can be included (front only).

Furthermore, the car can be equipped with amenities like GPS and air conditioning AS AN OPTION, should someone aim at the POSER EDITION.  With Z06 porker, these weigh adding features are standard, with no possibility to delete them and maybe replace them with something meaningful like better engine and transmission cooling or GOD FORBID, normally aspirated engine and worst blasphemy of all, FIXED ROOF STRUCTURE (there is no roll over protection available as expected).

So who is more serious about that track car claim and knows how to offer it at bargain price?  Certainly, it is not GM and certainly, it is not the Z06 porker (or Z28).

Tadge Juechter can spin the bullshit and make all the claims he wants but the reality is that a track car is not currently offered by GM and including track features does not mean jackshit when the resulting car amounts to gussied up Cars and Coffee poser instead of being a detuned version of the actual track car.

Is there a possibility that the seventh generation of Corvette can include an actual track worthy edition?  NO WAY IN HELL!!!

In reality, the only way there can be a track worthy Corvette is if someone fixes the valvetrain problems (still ignored by GM) on C6 Z06 and invests a bit of money in improved cooling and oiling systems  along with adjustable coilovers for these cars.

Again, the fact that Ford offers standard carbon fiber wheels on  a car that is not only considerably cheaper but also more track worthy makes the Z06 turd look like even a bigger piece of shit it already is.

  1. Although the new GT350 has not been tested, I say it will kill the Crapmaro z28, and it will out last the new z06, on the track. Those Ringer cars won't save that General Mistake.
