The devil is always in the details, making 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 even a bigger piece of shit

+General Motors marketers, along with the kool aid drinking (or is this a matter of oxygen depletion to the brain?) continue to sing the same old bullshit song claiming the latest Corvette Z06 is nothing short of a supercar that can be had for a bargain price.  In fact, assuming someone is truly gullible or more accurately, retarded, +Tadge Juechter would convince the buying idiots that short of space shuttle, there is nothing comparable to this newest creation.

Furthermore, the new Z06 is apparently the "flagship" of the GM line up, demonstrating GM's ability to surpass not just major car companies like Ford or Chrysler but even the more exclusive brands like Porsche and Ferrari.

The reality is unfortunately rather brutal, a hastily slapped together collection of poorly fitting plastic junk, held together by UAW pride (more accurately, lack of such), powered by pick up truck power plant, riding on two century old horse buggy suspension.

Considering that the newest flagship cannot accomplish anything related to high performance outside of occasional hero drag strip runs while rewarding the buyers with incompetence of the dealers scrambling to remedy a variety of problems and failures, the newest flagship is not really a bargain, instead, it is a cheap cheap car, delivering exactly what it costs.

But... there is more to the new flagship than the spectacular breakdowns, failed aerodynamics, constant overheating problems and absolute lack of quality: small design details that cement the newest car as a certifiable piece of shit and a marketing con job instead of the real thing.

The old saying about devil being in the details validates itself with vengeance in the newest flagship and is a sad testimony to the gullubiltiy of the buying masses.  Those details are not necessarily related to the luck of the draw assembly quality, shitty paint, poorly painted body panels, misaligned and warping interior-these are a given considering the origin of this bullshit "supercar", GM.

What is more disturbing are the performance related details such as lack of alignment, poorly machined cranks, inferior assembly hardware and items that by all accounts should never be present on the alleged flagship.

The case in point are metal lines used throughout the car, including the cooling systems and specifically, the method used to bend them.  By all accounts, a high performance vehicle and a flagship deserves great attention to details-to assure the consistency in its performance, thus, any metal lines should be bent using mandrel tube bending machine to maximize the flow (something that may be just crucial in the newest Z06, given all the overheating related issues? )

So is this the case with the Z06?  NO FUCKING WAY!!! Seems like the UAW bums use pliers to bend these metal lines, as shown here.  This is just one example but there are more, throughout the entire piece of shit "flagship".  Interestingly enough, the automatic transmission overheating on the Z06 is a given and it is so bad that the front cooler has been added to the flagship.  Of course, the horizontally place cooler/heat exchanger is a failure from the start but apparently GM wants to make sure it does not do jack shit by crimping the metal linese going to it?  Why even bother?  This is nothing short of dead weight weighing the porker down even more.  Too cheap to mandrel bend the metal lines?  A truly sad testimony to the bullshit behind the newest flagship.

  1. A few things I noticed from the picture: the other line has a long flat spot also. Why is the cooler mounted where there is no air? Also, did GM remove a panel in order to install the non-functioning cooler? I see the front spoiler/splitter but just a few inches behind it you can see large cavities that are not sealed. A front splitter will not work unless the air behind it is also controlled, in other words the front end needs to have panels to control the air flow under the car to create low pressure under the entire car. I am no Engineer, but I bet that front end has lots of lift / no down force, and that is where your drag is hiding.

    1. You can actually get away with a splitter and no undertray if you use a front air dam like on the base Stingray. The problem is the GM numbnuts did not account for the larger brakes needing more cooling and there is no center piece of the air dam on the Z51 and Z06 cars. Undertray is a better solution than the air dam but considering the aerodynamic mess under the Corvette, no choice.

    2. I thought all Corvettes had sealed underbody panels? Did not know a splitter would work without a seal/flat underbody. You are going to lose your low pressure area if the undercarriage is not sealed?
It does not take much to make the panels to seal the underbody, plastic panels will work just fine.

    3. Search on this blog for photos of the Corvette underside, far from smooth and the newest generation is just like the others, maybe even worse. Search this blog about the rear diffuser as well.

  2. a splitter will work without a flat floor (due to the high pressure at the nose), a diffuser might not.

either way, I'm guessing GM buys those tubes pre-bent. Looks like the bends were made using a tool not sized for the tubes, hard to tell. of course, for flow you'd generally want the bend radius to be three times the tube diameter but I don't think the mild deformation will have much effect. It is curious though and anyone looking underneatch might wonder if all those bends were really necessary.
