Certainly, cannot accuse the aftermarket of trying to cash in on the failure presented by none other than +Tadge Juechter 's Corvette team and the truly hot (literally) +General Motors C7 Z06 "certified supercar" flagship.
As a matter of fact, considering how truly screwed up this newest flagship is, perhaps Juechter did this intentionally, in anticipation of healthy kickbacks from those aftermarket suppliers? To Juechter's credit, the new flagship is so fucked up in the heat management department that no half ass remedy will cure it, in case this heat print was Juechter's fiendish idea of legacy...
Apparently this is the third attempt by aftermarket to offer frustrated Z06 owners an illusion of remedy? As already mentioned, these aftermarket "beefed up" radiators are as effective as aspirin for a brain tumor patient but nevertheless, there is profit to be made so here is another one.
This one, courtesy of previously mention LG Motorsports distinguishes itself from the other two by offering an extra 8.3 lbs of front bias to the newest flagship through allowing the cooling system capacity to increase by another gallon of coolant. Now, this is impressive... As already mentioned in this blog, after all of these half ass remedies are applied, the newest flagship will be lucky to compete with the shittiest of the FWD cars in weight distribution.
Obviously this valiant attempt by LG Motorsports in a great step toward increasing that front bias, LOL.
Without any doubt, these idiotic solutions will be coming from the aftermarket and without any doubt, neither the front bumper design, air circulation or cooling system and intercooler reconfiguration will all amount to a big waste of money but there should be a few select Corvette enthusiasts swearing by this newest way to relieve their bank accounts from even more money.
Will this "bigger and thicker" radiator use kool aid instead of coolant to improve the cooling? It really should...

You could install a radiator the size of a bus and it would not cure the problem. Here is a tip for the aftermarket gurus out there. 1st pull the engine and re-engineer the cooling passages in the LT4 to improve coolant FLOW, then improve on the water pump and connecting hoses. 2nd get a 3 inch hole saw and go to town on the fenders, hood and front end. Swiss cheese that bitch for better air flow. Otherwise this failure is going to run at the local track on a perfect 86 degree day like it was in Death Valley with the AC on full blast towing a bulldozer.
ReplyDeleteAgreed but this will never happen, this approach requires development and if GM does none of it, afermarket does even less. This is nothing else than template lifted off previous generations and the same dumb car owners.
