General Motors continues to stonewall repairs of Corvette C7 Z06 and C7 Stingray cars with manual trasmission gears popping out

Although not limited just to +General Motors , anyone who experienced problems with their car while still under factory warranty is very well familiar with this this scenario: dealership service manager or representative informing that the problem either cannot be duplicated or is within acceptable parameters for the car's operation.

As expected, the newest generation of Corvette is not any different, unfortunately.  Among the problems that apparently happen just for the customers is the never ending tale of gears having a nasty habit of popping out and the subsequent dealer's inability to reproduce the problem during so called service test drives.  Not surprisingly, many of the owners of the newest Corvette decided to take upon themselves the solution to this always annoying and occasionally dangerous problem.  The "solution" is supposedly an alignment of the shifter mechanism but in reality, there is only one real solution: transmission rebuilt or replacement.

As pointed out long time ago, the newest seven speed manual transmission is prone to failure for two reasons: problematic design and high frequency of defective parts being used.

Since the real fix is quite expensive, GM must love those DIY fixes, certainly a great money saver and even more fun for the future buyers of these cars after factory warranty expire...

  1. Solution: Take the car back to the dealership tell them you want your money back or you are suing them for breach of contract. You paid for a "track capable" car and received a piece of shit in return. Better yet, get a hold of a big law firm and start a class action suit. Then hope that the judge hearing the case is a C7 owner as well.........hahahahahah.....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
