Chinese made Corvette C7 Stingray wheels crack during track event

If anyone was in doubt regarding China being the land of inferior quality, there is no need to look further than the newest +General Motors Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray, and specifically, its made in China cast wheels.

Granted, these are the base cast wheels but still, such spectacular failure is not a very common occurrence and certainly, not expected from GM's premium car.

Perhaps, this is the reason why in 2016, GM decided to move the wheel production from China to US?  Tortilla flour instead of rice alloy?  Of course, nothing for +Tadge Juechter and his crew to lose sleep over.

Hopefully, the forged wheels offered on Z51 cars live up to their expectations better, especially on the track?

    1. I always welcome meaningful and constructive criticism so perhaps better luck next time? Try split spokes for 2016 while trying to discredit the info. Thanks for playing, LOL.

  2. Where does it says Made in Mexico? It does not matter to GM since they will deny the warrenty claim anyway. GM will blame the owner, nothing they do is ever wrong.

  3. That's why he is unknown Peter. Probably the immigrant who made the wheel.
