Corporate mentality behind Corvette C7 Stingray and Z06 versus grass roots ingenuity

The staleness of boxed corporate mentality behind the latest Corvette really comes up to surface when the newest Corvette is compared to cars created by people driven (pun fully intended) by enthusiasm and ingenuity.  People like +Tadge Juechter , Kirk Bennion and Tom Peters should take a trip to Philippines and learn first hand how to design a true supercar on a shoe string budget.

The case in point, a Philippine made Aurelio supercar.  Stylistically, the car is light years ahead of the Stingray or any Corvette that will replace it in the future.  Zora Duntov would approve it without a question, unlike the abomination called Stingray.

Here is the real kicker, the car uses a turbo charged four cylinder that produces more horsepower than the obsolete pushrod V8 and is considerably lighter, all for 37 GRAND!!!

With all the usual bullshit regarding great bang for the buck the Corvette supposed to be, there is really no comparison.  Looking at the upcoming Z06, the garish and gaudy plastic Corvette looks like a real piece of shit and there is no doubt the Aurelio is faster and handles better, all for about half price of the cheapest version of Z06.
