The difference between "certified pre-owned cars" and "track certified" 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 with 8 speed automatic transmission

One of the best gimmicks of used car sales marketing is so called certification.  Many manufacturers, included +General Motors cash in on this scam big time, getting a perfect excuse to charge more for doing absolutely nothing more they would do than with a car without that bogus certification.

Apparently, +General Motors  decided to use the same strategy to market the newest Corvette Z06.  While the base version of the C7 had a laughable track package available, there was no certification, just equipment supposedly necessary to use the Stingray for a track event (effective automatic transmission cooler not included).

However, it seems like +Tadge Juechter decided to take the Z06 a step further and started to claim a track certification for Z07 equipped Z06 cars, including both soft top and hard top versions of the new porker.

So is this track certification meaningful, allowing for A8 Z06 to be used for a track event extending beyond 1 lap, with ambient temperature above 85 degrees?  Is this track certification meaningful and setting itself apart from the used car "certification"?

Well, there are actually, there is no difference between these two scams and for the convertible version, it is an outright fraudulent statement.

The cooling on the current six speed automatic is terrible, completely inadequate and sufficient to light up warning lights in the Stingray like a Christmas tree after less than 20 minutes of track driving.

Will things get better with Z06?  No way in hell they will get better.  What is the reason why +Tadge Juechter keeps making these bogus claims?  A very simple answer, Juechter is counting on the buyers to never take their cars to anything but cars and coffee events.  There, the buyers can proudly place a TRACK CERTIFIED sign deon the car and impress other armchair warriors.
