Turning circle and fuel economy - two overlooked but very revealing elements of 2015 Nissan GTR Nismo vs. 2015 Corvette C7 comparison

Certainly, who can escape the truly shocking aftermath of the latest comparison between the +General Motors Corvette C7 Z06, with Z07 "performance" $9k option and the expected underdog, 2015 Nissan GTR Nismo (oh, for the kool aid sipping GM numbnuts, Nismo stands for NISSAN MOTORSPORTS).  The fact that the newest Corvette Z06 was literally decimated by the heavier, less powerful GT car with FOUR SEATS will be a super sore spot among Corvette sheep and give Corvette latest messiah, +Tadge Juechter permanent indigestion is a given.

But... there are some other aspects of this very revealing comparison that were ignored and these little details disclose the outright failure of the new flagship and its OBSOLESCENCE even more brutally, making the newest Z06 not just an inferior car but also a quintessential joke on four wheels.

Of course, the joke is strictly on the brain dead buyers, especially those who are currently kidding themselves that the upcoming slush box version will be the cure to all the misery and failure the most overhyped Corvette in history continues to endure.

These two details that make Z06 such a joke are the turning circle and fuel economy.

Ironically enough, Juechter has been spouting off on both of these subjects, in a truly nauseating way, too.  After all, the superior fuel economy in a budget supercar was supposed to be one of its great achievements.  But... apparently all the corporate gadgets like direct injection, half ass VVT and of course, AFM did not do jack, considering the slush box Z06 turd has been graced with GGT regardless.

The failure of the newest Corvette becomes very obvious when its fuel economy is compared against the pounds heavier GTR Nismo.  While Corvette struggles to deliver the 15/22/18 mpg, GTR Nismo manages to achieve 16/23/19 mpg while weighing over 350 pounds more and using DTC transmission!!!

To add insult to injury, the newest Z06 pollutes more as well, emitting 1.11 lb of CO2 per mile versus 1.05 lb per mile for GTR.

Certainly, to see this newest turd being not just slapped on the track and strip but also delivering shitty gas mileage and polluting more while doing so is truly a great sight!!!

And here is the other symptom of how much of a recycled piece of shit this new Z06 is, its turning circle.  While riding on a 106.7 inch wheelbase, the GM porker can manage only 37.7 foot circle.   How about the GTR Nismo?  Even though the platform is eight years old and the wheelbase is a very long 109.4 feet, Nismo's turning circle is 36.6 feet!!!

Let me make a disclosure here: the quoted EFFECTIVE turning circle for Z06 is over 40 feet since in real life, not too many owners want to experience the Ackermann Effect that can be quite annoying in the best case scenario.

Pretty pathetic to see this newest GM flagship not being able to manage a smaller turning circle while having a shorter wheelbase and only two seats.  Certainly, quite revealing to see Nissan's ability to employ the 4 wheel steering to make its heavy performer more nimble.

As it usually happens, the devil is always in the details and in this case, there a plenty of them to get a very good grasp on not just design and engineering failure of the newest Corvette but its obsolete nature as well.
