"Courtesy" dealers deliver damaged 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 cars to unsuspecting buyers

Cannot make up this shit, the real life events are considerably more entertaining.  Here is another case of unsuspecting buyer getting fucked over after spending hundred grand on the newest +General Motors flagship, Corvette C7 Z06.

This guy, just as many others is another victim of a truly nasty combination of California GM dealers greed, horrible dealer service and customer relations, shitty factory assembly quality and of course, the scam called COURTESY DELIVERY SYSTEM.

The courtesy delivery system is a perfect set up, allowing GM to produce shitty cars, charging arm and leg for them and then allow GM and dealerships to get away with anything what may be wrong with the cars through a process called finger pointing.

The beauty of the system is the sucker buyers get to purchase their cars sight unseen, selling volume dealers in the areas affected by winter, rendering Z06 shod with summer tires undrivable get to sell cars and the buyers can spend their time applying plenty of vaseline to their asses dealing with their own stupidity.

The lack of quality and mounting mechanical problems and cracking tires are all well established facts.  The possibility for getting a Z06 with minimum issues is a crapshoot at best, even when purchased directly from the selling dealer.  However, when the selling dealer's only function is to collect the money and the car is delivered to the courtesy dealers thousands miles away, after countless transportation related opportunities to fuck up already flawed turd, this is where the real fun begins.

Here is another example of a sucker who would be better off playing lottery than buying cars.

This car, delivered to a buyer in California, through a "courtesy" dealer could easily qualify for a salvage car auction, even though is supposedly brand new.  The car has bandged up front end, with scratches and signs of impact from the outside but it is considerably worse from the inside, under the bumper cover.  What makes this piece of shit even worse is the fact that someone attempted a hack job fixing the damage.  And of course, to top it off, there are also problems resulting from the shitty assembly in Bowling Green plant as well.

Of course, the hack job was not discovered by the buyer, too busy parting with his money instead of hiring a qualified car appraiser and attorney to assist him in the delivery process.  To make it worse, this idiot picked up the car only to drop it off at his local aftermarket shop, hoping to spend even more money on this piece of shit, including the ever popular clear film protection.

Since the aftermarket shop is the one that discovered all the damage and problems, the buyer is fully fucked, even assuming that the damage occured prior to the car ending up in the aftermarket shop. 

Has the dealer damaged the car after receiving it?  Has the aftermarket shop damaged it?  Was the car fucked up straight from the factory?  All of these are credible possibilities due to many instances of all of these possibilities already happening to others.

However, this part is not even important here, what matters here is the fact that the buyer gets to deal with the selling dealer, thousands of miles away, effectively wiping out a possibility for direct dealer input and removing the motivation for the selling dealer to intervene since the selling dealer has never even seen the car.



What makes this one very interesting is the fact that someone actually attempted half ass repairs to hide the damages.  The Bowling Green plant has a well established record of damaging brand new cars during assembly, breaking the fender mounting areas and then slapping epoxy on them UNDER THE BUMBER COVER.  Given the non existent quality control and incompetent assembly line employees, this is a possible scenario.  However, the evidence of dealers damaging these brand new cars immediately upon receiving them is very strong as well. 



Ironically enough, the aftermarket shop is probably the least likely suspect here but then again, there is always a time for the first time.



Regardless of the culprit, the buyer is totally and fully fucked in this case, without any doubt GM will be pointing finger at others and so will be everyone else.



The list of the problems is pretty long:


  • Missing bolts or hardware on right front brake duct
  • Front Fascia upper support bolt & 2 bolts in left front inner fender liner missing
  • Left front headlight mounting post bored out

  • Missing lower panel on front splitter
  • Left rear taillight bezel not properly installed
  • Installed grommet for headlight due to over sized mounting post

  • Misaligned tail light/tail light surround
  • Severe front end /bumper scratches
Again, this is another case of a fully gullible buyer, expecting performance bargain and receiving a fully fledged piece of shit in reality.  Of course, these problems are not related to any mechanical or electrical problems that hundred grand POS may very likely have in addition to the inital laundry list.



The chances of GM or the dealer assuming responsibility for the condition of this car and addressing pretty extensive damages are about the same as Bowling Green UAW crew producing a flawless car or +Tadge Juechter announcing the Nurburgring lap time for the newest generation of Corvette.

To sum it up, if the purchase of any C7 Corvette is a very clear of BUYER BEWARE situation, buying out of state, sight unseen through courtesy delivery service is an equivalent to suicide.  Considering the mounting evidence of the problems and issues the latest generation of Corvette already carries, it is very difficult to feel any sympathy at all for the buyer who did not even bother to examine the car prior to accepting it.  Tough shit and tough luck while GM enjoys extra profits.
