Motor Trend's bullshit "rematch" between 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 two ringer cars and 2015 Nissan GTR Nismo

A little while ago, the newest +General Motors flagship, Corvette C7 Z06 porker got seriously bitch slapped by the 2015 Nissan GTR Nismo.  This comparisson, conducted by Motor Trend, with the assistance of Randy Pobst behind the wheel, ended up in a big embarrassmet for +Tadge Juechter and his team of Corvette designers and engineers.  In fact, this failure must have bruised Juechter so much that Motor Trend, per insistence of their advertising sponsor, GM, organized a rematch.

In the meantime, good ole Tadge, after bitching and moaning about Nissan submitting a ringer, using higher than Z06 octane fuel and coming very close to outright accusing Nissan of cheating, in the most hypocritical way decided to submit ringer car himself,  in fact, not just one but two ringers, one with manual transmission and then another, with the 8 speed slush box.  Yes, the two cars used in this rematch are nothing short of ringers, due to the changes in magnetic ride suspension system, resulting in a set up not available on the production car.  The issue of the octane content of the fuel used this time is not disclosed as well as anything else the obviously desperate Juechter's team might have done to make the rematch happen.

The apparent reason for the initial defeat of the Z06 porker has been identified as the problem with rear suspension being out of caster factory specifications.  Of course now,  and unlike with any other road worthy rear wheel car without four wheel steering, the adjustable rear caster had been brought within the 0 degree specification because apparently the Corvette crew somehow "forgot" to check this part of alignment during the original duel.  The real question here is not why the fuck would anyone make the caster adjustable on the REAR wheels if the factory spec is ZERO degrees and apparently it cannot be maintained just like the rear camber that constantly goes due to the shitty concentric through bolt design?  Nevertheless, apparently now, the rear caster has been corrected... hmmmm....

Nevertheless, this time around, GM brought not one but TWO Z06 turds to fight it out with the GTR Nismo and two ringers to boot, this alone is a great testimony not to the flagship Corvette but its self imposed competitor.   Did you Juechter hope for a two car victory lap, attempting to validate the newest slush box?  Of course he did although this part did not work out great at all, considering the slush box Z06 recorded a slower laptime than the GTR Nismo, maybe the rear caster went out again?  Second rematch perhaps?

Can this "rematch" be considered as a credible redemption for the Z06?  Unfortunately for Juechter and Corvette nut huggers, NO FUCKING WAY!!!  There are problems here and big ones, sufficient enough to toss the whole pathetic attempt by Motor Trend and GM straight out of the window:

1.  The cars supplied by GM are not the current production cars, they are RINGERS, tuned beyond the specifications of the cars available to the buyers, unlike the GTR Nismo.

2. The real competitor to the GTR Nismo, the slush box turd still lost on the track and this is the only one version that can come close to the GTR Nismo off the line, big big problem right there.

3. The problems with overheating and heat soak did not go away, they were there just like they were before-one would hope that at least Juechter and his crew got off their lazy asses and improved this part since the cars are ringers anyway but apparently they cannot resolve this part.

4.  Finally, the biggest problem here-NISSANT GTR NISMO WAS NOT TESTED AT THE SAME TIME!!! Yes, Motor Trend retested Z06 turds only and used the PREVIOUS RESULTS for its bullshit "redemption" efforts.  In the meantime, the weather improved, temperatures went up sufficiently to allow the tires to gain more grip, allowing Z06 to gain more traction while the Nissan GTR was literally left out in the cold (great pun right here).

So what is the result of this rematch?  There is only one: Motor Trend offering greater return on the advertising monies provided to it by GM, at least for the marketing purposes and appealing to those who are either too ignorant or too stupid to realize what has really happened and how worthless this rematch really was.

Will there be another rematch or is this bullshit good enough for Juechter and GM marketing team?  Without any doubt, there will be no further rematch, one that would include GTR being tested at the same time for the simple reason that the Spring is here and temperatures are going up sufficiently enough to render the Z06 worthless once again.

The bottom line here is that this bullshit attempt did not redeem the Z06, it just made the car more of a joke and provided supporters of cars like GTR with plenty of chuckles.  Again, thanks for the effort and thanks for failing once again... The bullshit coming from GM and Juechter is just getting better and better.

    1. No matter what GM tries now, it is the first impression that counts and the first test was a big fail. Not including GTR during the second round is beyond pathetic. Seems like Juechter was afraid GTR would be whooping Corvette's ass once again, LOL.
