The problem with truly shitty aerodynamics of the seventh generation of +General Motors alleged sports car, Chevrolet Corvette has been beaten to death in this blog and apparently this problem will continue as long as this failed generation of Corvette will last.
By now, it is obvious that +Tadge Juechter has no intention of fessing up to the fuck up and correct it anytime soon. However, what is really interesting is the fact that as of now, there is still nobody in the aftermarket willing to come up with a remedy. The big irony here is that these alternatives existed in the previous generation of Corvette even though they were not really needed or at least not as badly as they are needed now. Is the aftermarket too lazy or too stupid to realize the opportunity?
As of now, the aftermarket vendors for both Stingray and Z06 Corvettes have been as unimaginative as they could get and in fact, the best they can do is to continue knocking off the moronic factory "solution" in the form of the front spoiler (not really a true splitter since it has very little to split and lacks a meaningful undertray extension to get the job done).
How does the aftermarket get away with this bullshit? If any of the buyers of the newest Z06 pretender even partially grasps the problems with that car's aerodynamics, this person will either shop somewhere else or at the minimum, understands that less is more is the only way with the aerodynamic brick piece of shit named Corvette C7 Z06. So what about this aftermarket offering that sets it apart from all the others? Is it meaningful improvement in drag reduction while supplying that ever popular downforce? Is it a remedy to the overheating problems directly related to the front end aderodynamics? Nope... what sets this one apart is its pricetag, approaching THREE GRAND for the complete set while providing just as much of an improvement as the cheapest aftermarket knock offs do...
Now, the cheapest "aero" junk is of course made in Mexico but... is this one justifying its pricetag supposedly due to its quality by being at least made in USA? Nope, it is made in China and apparently exploiting the gullubility of Corvette nuthuggers. The company, named Apsis does not excel in anything innovative, it just sticks it to the Z06 buyers because it can... Of course, this Apsis and its barely English speaking owner (aftermarket Juechter doppleganger?) is not the only one explo8ting the Z06 numbnuts, other companies such as APR apparently gave up on improvements to this turd and prescribes to the exacty same philosophy as this Apsis making the newest flagship the most peculiar Corvette model in many years.
