General Motors facilitates 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 and C7 Stingray buyers tacky tastes directly from the factory

Although minor issues as self destructing engines and transmissions, fit and finish and overheating issues continue to plague the newest generation of Corvette and especially, the newest flagship Z06, it appears that +General Motors is busy with other activities.  Not surprisingly, +Tadge Juechter and his crew opted to cater to Corvette tacky tastes instead of fixing any problems or improving performance of the newest Corvettes, after all, the performance concerns affect only a small portion of the buyers while visual gratification has a mass appeal, easily translating into sales.

No longer are the buyers forced to rely on the aftermarket to ghetto rig their fine rides, the tacky factory options as shown on this cadaver are readily available, allowing the buyers to drive off in their "custom" rigs directly off the dealer lot.

The results of these options are quite shocking, in the repulsive way, forcing remains of the yesterday's dinner to exit the bowels of the unsuspecting onlookers.

Apparently it must be just a matter of time before GM decides to take the final step and offer the remaining suit of options, still exclusively reserved for the "creative" DIY'ers and very accommodating aftermarket, as shown in this very entertaining picture.

Diclaimer: both the factory red and DIY yellow attrocities should be viewed with great caution, preferrably with a couple of paper bags handy.

  1. These GM factory custom rigs remind me of the 1971 Ford Pinto Cruising Wagons. The difference is the Pinto Cruising wagons were to Cool with the Smoked Moon Windows and custom paint, and that 2.3 Lima motor has more power potential, Essinger can get 1000 hp out of a 2.3 and the tach starts at 6,000.

  2. On the bright side, it is having the unintended effect of bolstering the autobody industry, as thousands of Viper owners with stripes on their cars are flooding the market and having their cars repainted.
