PATHOS (real Greek here)- the quality or power in an actual life experience or in literature, music, speech, or other forms of expression, of evoking a feeling of pity, or of sympathetic and kindly sorrow or compassion.
PATHETIC- adjective derived from PATHOS.
Pathetic is the word that pretty much sums up the entire newest generation of +General Motors Chevrolet finest but it is especially fitting when discussing the newest RICE edition of the Corvette flagship, the supposedly most track capable Corvette ever, at least according to the purely delusional douchebag named +Tadge Juechter .
Typically, R editions of high performance cars are the track R(eady) versions of already capable high performance cars, meaning the ammenities are minimized while performance and endurance abilities of the cars are maximized.
For 2016, both Ford and GM came up with R versions of their high performance cars and the approach is as polarized as it could get. In essence, GM vs. Ford approach boils down to cheesy stickers, interior garnish and marketing bullshit against no compromise track ready and equipped, stripped down machine.
It does not take a genius (although this maybe the exact case when Corvette buyers are involved) which one is which... The bloated and already gaudy porker called C7.R certainly is no track capable machine (maybe the track leading to the car wash or Cars and Coffee?). In fact, chances are very good that this piece of shit will crap out on the brain dead owner on the way to the track and if it does not, it will at least go into a limp mode after the very first hero lap (as long as ambient temperature does not exceed 85 degrees and the well aged owner resists the urge to turn the hopefully working air conditioning.
As already pointed out here, R in the Z06 porker should never be mistaken for anything even close to racing, in fact, the only words that can be ever associated with this sorry piece of shit are RICE and RETIREMENT, both describing the buying public perfectly.
On the other hand, there is the Mustang GT350R... Unlike the Z06 bullshit shell game, this car is actually a track car and it is designed as such. The biggest difference? The standard version of the car is the actual track and race ready car, with no air conditioning, no rear seat, no rear carpeting, no resonators, no radio and electronic bullshit entertainment but instead offering well thought out aerodynamics (really thought out since apparently Ford engineers do have a clue unlike the GM Corvette bullshit artist Juechter), light CARBON FIBER wheels, upgraded and track adjustable suspension, increased cooling and NORMALLY ASPIRATED flat plane crank DOHC engine, capable of continuous high speed runs, without losing its rod bolts or going into heat induced coma.
The result of this approach is a car that WEIGHS LESS than its stable mate, "regular" Ford Mustang GT350 and in fact, the weight difference is 130 pounds (when compared to the GT350 equipped with track package).
Unlike the Z06 buyers, the GT350R buyers of the poser variety can opt for ammenities like air conditioning and audio and information center but these items are available as an OPTION, not the standard equipment-this is where the biggest difference lies and this difference exposes the real objective of the Corvette flagship and this pathetic R edition: aged and senile senior citizens concerned with the vinyl stickers and interior choices than with actual performance.
Is there a point to the bullshit Z06 "R" edition? If there is a point, it is certainly not related to anything related to high performance or track/racing areas. The real question for Tadge Juechter: why not come clean and name this con job a BULLSHIT EDITION? Don't be shy Tadge, man up for once, not like the newest flagship can accomplish anything on a track anyway, LOL.

no doubt, the GT350 R,will outlast that piece of shit z06 on the track, while destroying the CRAPMARO z28.
