General Motors dealerships-the biggest flaw of 2015 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06

Like with a successful war campaign, effective logistic support is crucial to any commercially successful car (or any other product for that matter).

Adolf Hitler learned this lesson the hard way, all the way to his bunker scene but apparently lessons that can be learned from the past are a totally foreign concept to +Tadge Juechter , Mary Barra and anyone else in +General Motors  even remotely related to the newest generation of the Chevrolet Corvette.

In the end, any car is only as good as the corporate service behind it and marketing performance bullshit means exactly jackshit as soon as the newest and finest takes a crap and ends up at the mercy of the local dealership supposedly qualified to service and repair it.

As the old saying goes, you cannot polish the turd and it is fully applicable to any General Motors dealerships, including those that (formerly) were supposedly certified by GM to sell and then service the newest Corvettes.  Like with the absolute lack of quality control on the assembly line that results in (at best) spotty quality of the Corvettes produced in Bowling Green plant, exactly the same thing can be applied to all General Motors dealerships and the continuous trail of customers getting fucked over during purchase and then during the ownership has become a permanent and rather dubious trademark of Corvette C7 ownership.

Here is the newest example, demonstrating very well that no matter how technologically advanced a car may be, as long as the ignorance and arrogance of the dealership staff prevails, the newest Corvette should be avoided as a highly contageous disease, unless someone is in for the pleasure of aggrevation and mental anguish.

One of the selling points of the newest Corvette, Z06 specifically, is the optional carbon ceramic rotor system (in reality, a rehash of the previous ZR1 system), not necessarily a superior performer in real life but typically, lighter and certainly a sign of "high tech".

The problem with these rotors is that they are pretty fragile and can be fractured rather easily due to mechanical impact, thus, extra caution must be taken when working around them, especially when replacing wheels and tires since due to neglible clearance between the rotors and calipers and rims, it is very easy to accidentally drop the rim and chip the rotor, rendering them worthless.  To GM's credit, this problem had been acknowledge and as a part of OEM owner package, there are special foam protectors included to prevent the chipping and minimize the accidental impact.

Now, when an owner of the "flagship" comes to have his or hers car serviced at a GM dealership, one would assume that the supposedly certified technicians would be sensitizied to the problem and use extra precaution when working around these very expensive and very fragile rotors, right?

Unfortunately, just like with the countless numbers of rocker panels being broken at those GM dealerships during a supposedly simple procedure of lifting the car during service procedures or oil change, this is not the case at all and this is what happens when GM dealership technicians touch the newest flagship.

Admittely, shit happens but why cannot the dealership follow precautions and take steps expected from "unqualified" owners and protect the rotors to minimize the problems? The simple answer is because none of these grease monkey give a flying fuck and to them, that flagship is not any different than the next Sonic or pick up truck POS.  What is even more disturbing is the FACT that never ever the dealer crew feels obligated to notify the numbnut owner that the shit happened and unless the owner spends the time inspecting the car after the service is completed, he or she will not have a fucking clue what happened.  And then, something even more disturbing, the dealership refusing to assume any responsibility at all for what happens, forcing the kool aid drinking sheep to taste the quality of the corporate customer service.

Even though in this case, the newest Z06 is a true piece of shit, technologically and engineering wise flawed, what would happened if the car was an outstanding one?  Sadly, it would not matter due to the hair raising dealership experience.  Apparently this is something that nobody in GM understands, including the douchebag Juechter.

Now, with all the bullshit surrounding the alleged mid engine Zora "supercar", would it really matter if the car was great?  Absolutely not!!! As long the same shitty Sonic servicing dealerships are involved, the car itself will be irrelevant.  Interestingly enough, the Chrysler dealerships servicing Dodge Viper are one step above GM dealers, far from perfect and still botching many repairs but at least the corporate support offered to the buyers is considerably stronger than the one coming from GM headquarters.  Certainly, this is something Mary Barra should consider, especially since she was dumb enough to buy a C7 Z06 herself.  Without any doubt, she would not be a happy camper if shit like this happened to her.
