Yes, no matter how much +Tadge Juechter would like to spout off about buyers fighting over newest Corvettes and +General Motors claiming unprecedented sales numbers, the fact remains the newest Corvettes do not sell all that well and if new ones do not sell very well, the used C7 Corvettes sell even worse.
The case in point is one sitting at my local Lexus dealer for over two months now, with nobody interested in buying this piece of shit. Normally, this would not be an issue but in this case, the dealership happened to be located along my daily dog walking route, thus, I am subjected to the visual punishment on daily basis and this has been going on for over two months now!!!
This visual abomination happened to have a whopping 3k miles and slush box and according to the obnoxious salesman, the previous AARP belonging owner dumped the plastic fantastic for the new Lexus RCF, after the first test drive (yes, unlike with Corvette dealers, a test drive in RCF or any other Lexus (except for LFA, LOL) is as easy as ASKING for one.
So now, this piece of shit sits in the front of the dealership, collecting dust and annoying the living shit out of me daily!!! Since the first day of this punishment, there were two other cars sitting on the same display, sharing the space with this attrocity. First, there was a Camaro LZ1 convertible porker and it took four weeks for that car to disappear. Then, there was a Mustang GT500 that disappeared after less than TWO WEEKS of being displayed. However, there are no takers for piece of junk after over two months now and the visual punishment continues.
How much longer will this continue? Hopefully some late George Burns or Bob Hope look alike will pull the trigger soon to end this ordeal? The Memorial Day is over and this piece of shit is still there, yikes!!!

OMG,There is no missing that yellow beast. it is a little on the bright side. Why would a Lexus dealer want to display that thing up front, move it to the back along with the 74 Caprice Classics.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they use it to sell other cars? The GT500 lasted less than a couple of weeks sitting next to that thing. Easy to understand why someone dumped it to move up to RCF.
DeleteI would go to Army Surplus a get some of those Camo covers made for tanks and do the world the favor and hide that Bumble Bee looking thing.
DeleteI thought Lexus was trying to appeal to a younger group, which makes sense displaying the GT500 up front, but a Vette just screams old dude. They should display the car at a Retirement village or at the local Country Kitchen around 3:00 am.
Looks like the sales are more than double every single month over the last generation of the corvette. But I'm sure that one yellow vette on your lot is a representation of the whole.

chicken
Wow, the C7 must really be a piece of shit when the previous owner trades it in for a shitty RCF on the first test drive.
DeleteMack, you are clueless as Corvette sheep should be. This is about USED C7 Corvette sales, not new ones. Cannot give that junk away when used, apparently and to my visual dismay.
