The significance of the 1000-hp Corvette C7 Z06- a funny testimony to aftermarket's stupidity

The latest +General Motors Corvette flagship, C7 Z06, advertised (semi truthfuly) as the most powerful Corvette ever and as a true "certified supercar" overheats at will and generates so much heat soak in its stock 650-hp configuration that the dumb but proud owner living somewhere in the snowbelt states could easily cut down on the winter heating bill by merely parking that piece of shit after a short run (assuming the summer only tires agree to remain in tact).

Yet somehow, unable to resolve the overheating and heat soak problems for the stock cars, the Corvette aftermarket insists on "unleashing the hidden power" and apparently cure the overheating and heat soak problems by adding more power to this certified failure of a car.

If +Tadge Juechter and his Corvette teammates disclose full disregard for even the basic laws of physics and thermodynamics, what does this make those aftermarket power brokers?  Pretty obvious these numbnuts are even dumber than the GM Corvette team.  Of course this part works out great for GM, adding power cannot be accomplished without voiding factory warranty, one way or another (unless someone carries a set of wrenches and skills around to remove the single untraceable modification (cold air induction system with no tune) and the original parts and is capable of the switcharoo before the tow truck arrives.   All other power adding "modes" will be music to the dealer service reps denying warranty coverage but this is another story.

Nevertheless, there is finally a king of the stupid among the aftermarket suppliers, managing to exceed a supposedly meaningful benchmark of "dyno verified (with hood wide open and measured in a hurry) 1000-hp at the wheels power rating.

Like with all other aftermarket "power packages", including Callaway, Hennessey and Lingenfelter, not a single measure has been made toward controlling the extra heat generated during that power increase (and more power is always more heat).  So the real question is why?  Apparently because it can be done and the flagship can put out this extra power on the dyno, with the printout obviously displayed during the upcoming festival of idiocy called SEMA...

The real funny part of this exercise in futility is the fact that power is delivered courtesy of a supercharger.  Yes, it is more efficient (but less linear) centrifugal Procharger but in reality, it is just a better mousetrap, requiring over 22 psi of boost to generate this power.  Like with any supercharger, this boost is extracted from the engine, putting tremendous stress on the engine and generating shitload of heat in the process because to generate this extra power, over 220 hp is required making this a clear of diminishing results.

To top it off, methanol injection is used to prolong this agony of disintegrating engine, suppressing the detonation as much as possible, at least to allow for that dyno run.

As usual, not a single measure taken to improve the cooling system that is totally inadequate with almost 400 hp less but why bother with those little details...

To the credit of the failure called C7 Z06, it seems to be a great equalizer, generating special olympics events all around, not just in GM but among the aftermarket clowns as well.

One cannot help but wonder, wouldn't these tools be better off by keeping their intellectual deficiencies in private?  As already shown by the Neon SRT4 whooping the ugly ass of C7 Z06, turbo is the only way in SUSTAINABLE high power wars... Only a complete idiot would be bragging about forcing a junky motor like LT4 to produce 1000 hp by subjecting it to supercharging but then again, there is no limit to idiocy when Corvette is involved.  How about at least a 50-gallon expansion tank and roof mounted auxiliary radiator/oil cooler combo?  (patents pending, LMAO)

LOL at this dyno chart, especially considering both RPMs and A/F curve are missing... Hmmm...

  1. Dyno Queen, probably a Trailer Queen too. Cars like this joke are found in the pits at the local drag strip cooling down the intake with a bag of ice in between 1/4 mile runs. Give it time ole Vadge Jokester will revise his claim to most "Most 1/4 Mile Capable Covette Ever"

    1. Agreed, dyno queen is a very good term to define this new Z06 altogether. You would think that someone would get off their ass and build something that would actually work but this is too much to ask from either GM or these aftermarket geniuses. Hopefully the methanol tank is big enough because if it ever runs out, the block will be like swiss cheese.

  2. 22 psi and 220hp lost through heat and efficiency losses to make 1000 hp on a ticking time bomb is a fucking joke. It won't last and driveability will be shit.

    1. At these power levels, turbo is the only way to go but these people are either too lazy or too incompetent to come up with efficient solution. Forcing engine to produce 1200 hp while getting 1000 in return is pretty dumb.
