As already stated in this blog on quite a few occasions, the inferior and undersized and underdesign electric motor assisting the steering on the sevent generation of Corvette overheats, creating clear and present danger to the safety of the drivers. The problem manifests itself rather violently and of course, on the track. However, since this shitty system is underdesigned and fit for automotive special olympics, the safety hazard is always there.
Do not tell it to +General Motors and +Tadge Juechter though, apparently a safety concern can be turned into "performance enhancement" and peddled under the GMPP scam, to of course and as expected, void the factory warranty and dump the consequences of this installation solely on the shoulders of the Corvette owners. Pretty clever trick actually, LOL.
The ghetto rigging part is right here: a hacked up brake duct, turned into second duty, this time as an air scoupe/ram air device, meant to keep the defective electric motor in tact and below boiling point... Hmmm...
The installation consists of cutting up the air dam and the front underbelly, originally there to improve aerodynamics but apparently, no need to worry about little details for cars destined to live on the track? The obvious part is that this hack job, just like the previous DIY attempts is not worth shit, regarding cooling this motor. Maybe, maybe... Juechter needs to start hanging out with computer geeks a bit? They seem to be up on speed (pun intended) how to cool electric motors, maybe Tadge should become a fan (even bigger pun intended)?
