The gradual changes in the flagship's marketing mission statement "coincided" with the very embarrasing and epic failures sustained by the latest flagship and its creator, +Tadge Juechter .
If the extented of the projected success of the C7 Z06 sounded outright spectacular (a true world class performance on a shoe string budget, setting new standard for the automotive high performance market), so did the real life acknowledgements of the fact that if something sounds like bullshit, it most likely is one: Nurburgring fiasco, countless breakdowns during press reviews and tests and overheating and heat soak problems reaching epidemic numbers among the owners of the newest GM flagship.
So in the end, considering the claimed sales success, a logical conclusion would be that the newest flagship's real purpose was to unload buyers wallets, cashing in on the outmost ignorance and stupidity of the people who somehow refused to conduct even a slightest reality check and gladly substituted it with a cult like submission. In other words, the stupid got exactly what they deserved.
But... there is more to it and one cannot help but wonder if in some twisted way, Tadge Juechter and his team engineered this fiasco to perhaps pay tribute to the previous Corvette program chief Dave Hill? Did Juechter sabotage the C7 development and intentionall destined it to fail?
Dave Hill's biggest achievement was creation of two Corvettes: the most track capable Corvette ever, C6 Z06 and a certified supercar, C6 ZR1 which also happened to be the most capable Corvette ever.
Is it really possible that Juechter could be that stupid? Botching the powertrain is one thing but botching the car aerodynamics and powertrain at the same time while claiming superiority over TWO so distinctly different cars from the previous generation? How is it possible that after so much research and development, the newest flagship would be such a piece of shit, overheating routinely?
One look at the front of the new flagship
and then one look at the front of the C6 ZR1 ...
Certainly, only a complete idiot would come up with something so disfunctional... unless... Tadge decided to pay the ultimate homage to Dave Hill and C6 ZR1 and build a car that demonstrates only one thing: cannot do better than previous King of the Hill ZR1.
If this scenario becomes a valid one, then moments like this one would be considerably easier to understand and instead of pointing out Juechter's incompetence, even this blog would thank him for such an unorthodox homage. There is of course the matter of idiots who purchased this homage but without them, where would the entertainment be?

The C7 got its fat ass handed to it. Long live the C6 ZR1
ReplyDeleteGotta love the Blue Devil
ReplyDeleteFrom the performance stance, it is the better car for sure.
