Arash AF8 Cassini - another car manufacturer chosing C6 LS series engines over Corvette C7 LT1 and LT4 problematic powerplants

Although this has been mentioned on this blog many many times, the main purpose of the current generation of Corvette is apparently to remind +General Motors that the previous generation of Corvette was as good as Corvette could ever get.  The uncomfortable reminder applies to both, chassis and most of all, engines and transmissions.

Even though the nature of the corporate beast forces the adoption of the newest engine technologies to all current GM line ups, specifically the Cadillac CTS and current generation of Camaro, even internally, there have been signs of of refusal to adopt the highly questionable engine technology.  5th Generation Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is a great example of this internal unrest, along with the latest twin turbo Cadillac offerings.

Although the typical Corvette buying public can never be accused of having even a trace of intelligence, others have figured out this part long time ago and are there to prove this point over and over again.  Those others include renowned aftermarket engine builders, of course but nothing shows the skepticism toward the latest LT powerplant line up better than super high performance niche manufacturers, choosing small block Chevy powerplants and corresponding transmissions as the means to deliver their claimed performance figures.

As this blog described in the past, Bob Lutz and his Fisker Karma VLF creation chose the previous generation's of Corvette LS9 engine for very simple reasons: reliability and performance consistency but... there are others who make a very conscious choice, literally avoiding the newest LT engine series as the proverbial disease.  Then newest car maker to join these ranks is UK based Arash and its "budget minded" (LOL at $246k bargain but it is all relative considering the price of the AF10 Arash model) AF8 Cassini.

To power this car, available in 2017, UK based Arash went with the GM sourced and Corvette based powerplant.  However, just like with Bob Lutz, according to Arash, the latest LT line of engines never even came for consideration, for the exact same reasons as with Bob Lutz, RELIABILITY and performance being the only reason motivating Arash to go with the previous generation of Corvette LS7 engine and corresponding six speed transmission.  Never, ever, the LT engines and seven speed transmission came for consideration.

On a side note, before tunning the LS7 engine, hopefully Arash decided to upgrade the faulty heads to prevent exhaust valves from dislodging themselves?  Considering that Arash claims over 550 hp output from LS7, this better be the case.

Now, +Tadge Juechter can bullshit the Corvette dimwits all he wants about the advantages of the newest LT engines but the reality continues to disagree with this delusional moron 24/7, with the "budget" Arash giving the chief bullshit artist not just one but a couple of black eyes:  first with the latest Corvette poser car, C7 Grand Sport forced to make do with the same shitty LT1 460 hp turd but most importantly, with the real mid engine design of the Arash AF8 and specifically its price.  If the super small volume Arash can offer a mid engine car for less than 250 grand, what possible excuse can Juechter and GM have not to offer one?

Apparently Corvette enthusiasts prefer bullshit look alikes of "real thing" failed C7 Z06 over a real car?  A purely rhetorical question, in light of Juechter still keeping his job, with newest Corvettes being such failures and quintessential butts of automotive jokes.
