General Motors celebrates the anniversary of Corvette C7 Z06 Nurburgring humiliation by crashing 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 at the same track

If there is one event that can be recognized as defining the essence of the seventh generation of Corvette, it is without any doubt the Nurburgring stunt.  This idiotic stunt, intended to validate the success of the newest top of the line as the best ever +General Motors track car, C7 Z06 but instead, made both GM and +Tadge Juechter look like complete assholes.

Had not been for the carelessness of GM and watchful eye of this blog, the truly pathetic 7;18 lap time achieved after several failed attempts would not even be known to the automotive world.  Interestingly enough, the laptime disappeared as quickly as it appeared and douchebag Juechter chose to pretend as the mystery was not caused by the failure of car design but instead, by some higher forces, preventing GM from disclosing the lap time publicly.

As this blog further pointed out, the time achieved by the best ever track worthy Corvette ever sucked due to the fact that did not even come close to the fourth generation of Dodge Viper and Nissan GTR Nismo.  Yes, the lap time was better than the last ZR1 but it f, ailed to beat the real competitors.

Although until today, Juechter continues to pretend nothing ever happened and the most track worthy Corvette ever is now marketed as a CERTIFIED SUPERCAR, apparently GM decided to celebrate this humiliation after all.

Apparently, GM decided to choose quite an unorthodox way to go about it:  instead of having Juechter fess up, admitting the pathetic lap time, GM decided to celebrate by crashing another fine GM ride, 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 at the same Nurburgring course.

As shown in the video, a porker like Jim Mero is not needed to crash a high performance GM car, young guys can do it as well.  Interestingly enough, three young lads managed to take on the Nurburgring track and none of them took selfies after the accident.

However, what is more interesting is the car itself, specifically, its road holding abilities and manners. Was the car defective, driver drunk or texting or is the design so shitty?  Either way, the first showing of another track special is right down funny, incapable of tracking straight and maintaining composure in not even tight turns.  The body roll, just like with the newest Corvette is truly amazing, making the car look more like a plane than a track car.

Thanks again GM for this newest installment in the never ending track car saga.  Great idea crashing one failure to commemorate another.

    1. Considering 7:12 for 2010 Dodge Viper, the Z06 time is beyond pathetic and I was being polite...
