This competition exists typically on the drag strip since this is where both of these cars are best suited to distinguish themselves (forget about road course or track driving, it is summer and 2017 Corvettes overheat just as much as the earlier years of the seventh generation). The competition of course involves either fortified examples of Corvette Stingray or the formerly most track capable Corvette ever, C7 Z06 High Heat edition). The other car involved is none other than Tesla S model and its progressively quicker derivatives.
However, there appears to be a new competition that takes place between these two fine automobiles:
paint orange peel contest and which of the two cars can sport a shittier finish.
Although C7 Corvette is already well established new low for the paint finish and so called orange peel, apparently Tesla decided to compete with the "certified supercar" as shown in these pictures.
Now, I am not in the habit of checking out cars, it is tacky and rarely warranted due to low visual gratification factor but for a few, it felt like one of those dreadful Corvette C7 experiences. Yes, the paint on six figure Tesla is just as shitty as on a six figure Corvette. Is UAW manning the Tesla factory these days? At least the paint shop? Hmmm.... There is a definite tie in OP competition between Tesla and Corvette C7. To Tesla's credit, the body panel fitment is night and day and so is the lack of runs and drips that can be found on any Corvette C7, without looking for them too hard.
