Well, nothing beats first hand experience. Two months ago, one of the local dealers got its first Corvette Stingray. The car was on the showroom floor exactly one day, less than 24 hours. I know because I walk my dogs by that dealer, allowing me to keep up with all the turds GM produces, including Cadillac. Nevertheless, this particular dealer is not a big Corvette seller, pretty surprising the dealer got any allocations at all, so early in the process of selling this new Corvette, since this dealer is not Corvette certified.
So... after about a couple of months, the same dealer has another Stingray. Unlike the first car, this car sits on the showroom floor for over two weeks now and it is still there as I write this. What does this mean? Pretty simple answer-NO TAKERS!!! No takers for the car that currently is being sold for MSRP.
There is another example, with another local dealer, too far for my walk and I certainly do not want to drive there to deal with those tools but... they do advertise on the interned. About a month ago, they had 4 Stinkrays, they were all advertised at 10k over MSRP. I slammed them on my blog for the greed and stupidity. Now, they have a few Stingrays sitting and they are all below MSRP. I know because I inquired online after seeing the previous markups disappeared and only MSRP was published. Apparently they prefer to offer discount of 3k under MSRP upon inquiry, LOL.
So overall, it is not difficult to tell the sales are not just dying off but that they are actually dead.
Sales failures for Corvette so early in the production cycle are very unusual, certainly things will not get better for GM. Hopefully there will enough visually impaired retirees to keep this this farce going for a while or I will be out of business sooner than anticipated, LOL.
