No power assist hatch latch - the typical idiocy of penny wise and pound foolish Tadge Juechter and General Motors

By now, it is a well known fact that the bimetal latch mechanism is an overall failure on Corvette C7 when the side windows are fully rolled up.  As much as +Tadge Juechter  would like to claim that this new design saves weight, the fact remains this guy is a complete idiot because not only the car weighs over 200 pounds more than the predecessor but also because the new design of the latch assist just does not work. 

So here Tadge, for all your claims regarding C7 rendering C6 obsolete due to all the new technologies in the C7, you continue to come across as a complete idiot because it is not the technology but its practical outcome that matter.  Yes, you saved HALF POUND while the windows in the car have to rolled down for anyone not to slam on the hatch to close. 

I gotta confess, as "obsolete" as C6 may be, it certainly has fewer glitches like this new idiotic latch assist and it certainly can be modified, including actual tune.  What is exactly a point to new technologies if they do not prove to be more effective than those they replace?  Maybe C8 will resolve all these SNAFUs?
