Can fat people fit in Corvette C7 Stingray?

Generally speaking, NO, they cannot.  What are the dimensions of a typical well aged (and lacking physical agility to boot) Corvette buyer?

Height between 5'10" and 6'2" and weight between two 200 and 250 lbs, with waist line ranging from 34 to 40+ , in other words, FAT.

There are two steps to typical Stingray buyers fitting in the new car: ingress and then ability to fit in the seat, while capable of operating steering wheel and two or three pedals on the floor.

After sitting in both touring and competition equipped cars, I have observed the following:

1. The ingress to the car, regardless of the seat option requires considerably more physical agility (which typical Corvette owners lack as a rule) than Corvette C6.  Unless you posses sufficient agility and little body fat, moving the seat rearward as much as possible is the only possible way for the potential buyers to get in.

2. For the touring seats, size 34 beltline is the maximum possible comfortable fitment allowing measurement.  Anything beyond that and fat will get in the way of side bolsters, hehe...

3. For the competition seats, size 30 waist is highly recommended, with size 32 testing the limits of highly pronounced seat back bolstering.

4.  Anyone taller than 6'2 and inseam great than 34, may as well forget about even trying to get in the car, they will not fit in the car and even less so, in the seat.

5. Anyone with lower back problems should avoid this new Corvette.  Both types of seats offer absolutely no support, adjustable or fixed, where such support would be needed (similar to C4 seats).

6. Anyone with a garage not allowing for full opening of the door, should not bother with this car.  The doors are longer than on C6 and require full swing to actually set feet on the ground.

7.  Competition seats (seat backs actually) make both egress and ingress a pipe dream to a person lacking physical fitness and agility.  The outer bolsters will not last on these seats very long...

In case the local dealer does not allow buyer to sit in one of these turds, trying a Corvette C4 for size will be a very meaningful substitute.  Any unfit and fat blokes not capable of accessing C4 and fitting in its seats, should think pretty hard about purchasing the newest Corvette.

Disclaimer: these comments address physical access to the vehicle and driving comfort only.   The fact this car is such a POS on so many other accounts, is totally irrelevant in this case.

Attention +Tadge Juechter : kudos to you and members of your team responsible for the interior design.  Making the EXTERIOR of the car wider while depleting the interior of leg, elbow, hip and head room is a truly impressive accomplishment.  Do these car come with a body mass screening test and dieting instructions for the typical overweight and physically challenged, aging Corvette buyers?

  1. I'm a female in my 30's and bought a new C7. You are making lots of generalizations about the audience of this car.
