History likes to repeat itself and apparently karma must be a bitch for +Tadge Juechter . Not long ago, the same Juechter proclaimed Corvette C6 to be obsolete, with Corvette C7 becoming the newest and hottest Corvette ever.
Then, the same Juechter promised Stingray buyers the upcoming Corvette C7 Z06 would be the only current generation Corvette using the new 8 speed automatic transmission,. Certainly by pure coincidence, that assurance was made by Juechter in the middle of winter, a total sales killer for a car equipped with summer tires only.
Fast forward to April, right after C7 MSRP hike and the same Juechter clearly stated the new automatic transmission will be coming the base Stingray way in 2015 after all. There is no doubt that Juechter screwed over quite a few buyers who jumped on the buying band wagon to beat the price increase deadline and grab the newest and most advanced Corvette ever.
Well, guess what? That 2014 Stingray will be obsolete in less than two months, at least those equipped with automatic transmission and these first year owners will be joining the ranks of C6 owners, driving an obsolete car. Ain't life full of ironies?
Furthermore, this first year of newest Corvette shapes up to be the worst new model introduction ever, or at least the former biggest turd, 1968 Corvette was released, disclosing problems with the new car on almost daily basis. If the resale value of 2014 Corvette was not bad enough, it will get considerably more so. After all, who in their right mind would drive a car equipped with a true relic?
The ability of Juechter to ream the rear ends of his biggest supporters who were dumb enough to buy the first year of Stingray is very impressive. These numbnuts are not taking it in their rear ends enough, now, they will be taking it up their asses courtesy of Juechter himself.
The irony of 2014 Stingray already being obsolete is very very entertaining. Certainly a year to automatically avoid when shopping for used cars.
