The jig is up for the newest +General Motors Corvette flagship, C7 Z06, the car is finished as "the most track capable Corvette ever", "the most capable Corvette ever" and now, as that bullshit "certified supercar", with the succession of the marketing phrases showing clearly the continuous fall from automotive grace. The fall from grace of course should be fully dedicated to the moron in charge of the Corvette C7 program, none other than +Tadge Juechter .
Although the evidence of the failure and fraudelent marketing claims to which Juechter gladly subscribed were always there, the failure process was painfully slow, everwhere but on this blog. Just as the kool aid runs strong among brain dead Corvette enthusiasts, the advertising revenues carry a lot of weight among automotive magazines.
Unfortunately for GM, Juechter and those retarded Corvette buyers, the extent of the failure is so great that even the most generous donations to automotive magazines could not stop the very entertaining process.
The newest flagship is so flawed and so mismatched against its advertised purpose that even the most sympathetic of the automotive press had to finally throw in the towel. To put it plainly, the newest flagship is the butt of many jokes for years to come, anytime someone mentions high performance automobiles.
To be clear, the base C7 Stingray is a true piece of shit as well, it is just not as stretched to the limit as the flagship, with its Z51 "performance" package and bullshit track mode selectors, right down to those idiotic "track preparation" instruction in the owner's manual. Absolutely none of the current C7 cars should be ever taken to a serious racing event, they are all based on the same flawed design and are nothing short of marketing fraud that should spawn a class action lawsuit among the idiots who actually paid for those Z51 and Z07 packages for anything other than visual gratification.
Nevertheless, the article in October edition of Road and Track delivers the final blow to the Z06 failure, in essence repeating what the author of this blog has been saying since that piece of shit was first announced.
In a nutshell, according to Road and Track, Tadge Juechter and GM are full of shit, either so deceitful or incompetent to claim the newest Z06 has any business being on a track (except for the one in Bowling Green while these pieces of shit are being assembled by the UAW heroes). As the article states, the new flagship is a replacement for the last ZR1, not Z06 and its track abilities are lesser than not just the C6Z06 but C5Z06 as well!!!
When the automotive press describes its anticipation of break downs and problems as its attitude toward the flagship, this is then end of the road for both the flagship and Juechter, the new Z06 has been declared ONCE AGAIN a true piece of shit and incompatible with its advertised abilities.
In the past, Jeremy Clarkson called the flagship a piece of shit, followed by Motor Trend, Yahoo Autos, JD Power and few others, certainly there was a clear pattern here. Now, ironically enough, the flagship took a shit at its place of birth, Bowling Green and NCM track specifically.
The points Road and Track brings up:
1. The car is completely unsuitable for track duties, plain and simple.
2. The car is heavy and supercharged unlike its lighter and normally aspirated predecessors.
3. Claims made by GM marketing and Juechter fail to realize in real life, making testers praying for not experiencing a break down while testing the car.
4. The flagship should never be advertised not just as a track ready but even as a track capable car.
5. The new Z06 is a successor to the last ZR1, not Z06.
6. The car is not just technologically complex but flawed as well, demonstrating designers incompetence in chosing suitable technologies.
7. Even though the new Z06 replaces the last ZR1, conceptually it is closer to a muscle car than a high performance sports car, with high power and straight line performance being its only strong points.
What Road and Track did not mention is the fact that the new Z06 falls short as a ZR1 replacement due to the cheapness of design that makes it just another car using LS9 powerplant, sharing it with Camaro ZL1 and Cadillac CTS V (and the Cadillac already has serious overheating problems).
Ironically enough, the same article mentions the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR as the real track car, a track ready car right out of the box. The irony here is the fact that the only reason why the new ACR is a good track car is because Chrysler simply reused the previous generation's design, not just the formula but the design as well. Without any doubt, the Generation 4 ACR could have been used and it would still be considerably better than the newest Corvette piece of shit flagship. Now, this is a big irony right there.
The bottom line: the new Z06 is finished, its reputation is permanently destroyed and there is nothing GM or moron Juechter can do about it-all because Juechter is such an arrogant and incompetent idiot. Had he advertised the new flagship as a new ZR1, none of this could happen but the problem here is the fact the new flagship is inferior to the ZR1, it fails to fill in the shoes of a supercar.
Now, this would be a great time for the idiots who not just bought the new Z06 but were stupid eough to pay extra for that Z07 option to demand their money back... LOL
