Throughout the previous, sixth generation of Corvette, the concept of creating visual look alikes of the so called "widebody" upper end cars, Z06 and ZR1 was very popular, in fact, this concept was pushed to the max by a place Supervettes that charged truly outrageous amount of money to create a stung by a swarm of killer bees widebody conversion that was supposedly twice as wide as the factory "narrow body" to "widebody" width difference. The concept of cloning those widebody cars was in fact so popular that even GM caught on and in addition to offering body conversion kits, a factory look alike named Grand Sport was created to allow GM to cash in on the trend and boost the sagging sales of C6 cars.
Strangely enough, even though it is the third year for the C7, so far, the only widebody conversions available for the newest Corvette are the Tijuana specials offered by an individual calling himself Topo. Topo's offering, as ghetto as it is, is completely different from the factory pseudo "widebody" disasterous flagship, C7 Z06 and it will never get mistaken for the Z06 (although considering single digit IQ of Corvette enthusiasts, never say never, LOL). The fact that Topo's mexican hack jobs look different is not a bad thing at all, considering the shitload of problems and defects plaguing the newest flagship and may be a partial consolation to someone stupid enough to part with about 175 grand to buy one of these abortions.
However, since there is no limit to Corvette owners stupidity, the problems and embarrassment generated by the newest flagship do not seem to stop everyone and there are idiots out there gladly parting with 80 GRAND!!! to have their C7 Stingrays cloned into C7 Z06 look alikes.
The cost of such conversion ironically enough costs as much as the base price for the piece of shit called C7 Z06 while adding absolutely no value to the car should someone wreck that clone and dream of insurance company covering the cost of this idiocy. Furthermore, selling such a clone while attempting to recover at least part of the conversion cost is next to impossible. The majority of Corvette buyers finance their cars and no way any financial institution would allow for such deviation from used car sales guide pricing.
Nevertheless, since it does not take long for a Corvette fool to part with his or her money, 80 grand buys such conversion and the only part distinguishing it from the original, at least visually, is the lack of orange peel and better body panel fitment (hopefully).
So what is included in this "conversion"? Certainly no brains from the car owner, emissions certification or any kind of warranty but what is included:
* Z06 body painted Ferrari Averio
* stage 2 aero kit painted matte black
* Caravaggio Z06 hood and big mouth vent
* E-force supercharger
* headers
* heads and cam
* full leather interior including Alcantara carpet
The points of interest: the car uses Edelbrock supercharger, larger than stock but lacking (failed) factory improvements to engine cooling system. Ghetto fender extenders are included at no charge. One would think that for 80 grand, this conversion would include a better front bumper and wider fenders, with increased air intake and intercooler inlets and no ghetto fender extenders but apparently it would take another 80 grand to actually improve this "conversion".
As usual, the stupidity runs rampant among Corvette enthusiasts, with money flowing freely and common sense fully MIA.
Wow one has to be dumbass to spend so much on car with totaling costs of around 140k. For that price you might as well get the GTR Nismo, Mercedes Benz AM GTS or Audi R8 V10. There is alot of truth to your posts, I can see why you got banned. It sucks the developer cant handle the truth.
ReplyDeleteAudi R8 V10 is more but the other cars, yes, they can be had for this kind of money. I can assure you the rumours of being banned are as real as the rumours of a civic parked in my driveway (apparently my mom's driveway), LOL.
DeleteFucking douchebags but not as bad as Tadge.
