Can 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 compete with 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat on the dragstrip?

In order for this to happen, the upcoming Corvette Z06 has to come in under 10.8 seconds.  For this to happen, the newest Z06 has to have the capacity to use and actually benefit from drag radial tires and if the base Stingray is any indication, this will not happen since the OEM Sport Cup 2 are, for all practical purposes drag radial tires already.

As a matter of fact, the newest Z06 may have a serious problem competing with the Hellcat shod with street tires (11.2 sec) while having the disadvantage of not being drivable in the rain or snow due to almost complete lack of thread on Sport Cup 2 tires.

Ironically enough,  for the dragstrip crowds, Hellcat is a helluva bang for the buck even compared with the base Stingray, considering its $61k MSRP.

Gotta hand it to the Dodge boys, they managed not to just shut out the porker Camaro but the 2015 Corvette Z06 from the dragstrip bragging rights club and for very close to half of the price of the Z06.

In the end, raw horsepower talks and the Hellcat has quite a bit more of it than the Z06.
