Corvette C7 Stingray AFM, steel torque tube and blown engines -the mayhem continues

Apparently intelligence is not a hot commodity among Corvette engineering team, including the self proclaimed chief engineer, +Tadge Juechter .

As already pointed out here quite a while ago, there is a simple solution to preventing engine destruction during any service procedure involving removal of torque tube.  As it is, it is already 2015 model year and surprise, surprise: new colors are available for the Stingray but the 5 cent dowel pins are still missing from the torque tube, to prevent thrust bearing damage due to misaligned torque tube during insertion procedure.

Once again, if it was not for the AFM and vibrations it causes (destroying hydraulic belt tensioners en masse as well), the tube would be lighter, perhaps light enough not to damage the thrust bearings by apparently unfit dealership mechanics, in spite of their so called Stingray certification and special tools required to service the newest Corvette who cannot figure out how to align the torque tube parallel to the engine and keep obliterating the motors.

It is absolutely amazing that a simple solution costing pennies is ignored while thousands are spent by +General Motors dealers for engine replacements due to negligence of the dealership mechanics  combined with extra weight of the tube making alignment quite difficult.

The question is: how many years will pass before the dowel pins are included with the torque tube or better yet, AFM eliminated from the Stingray to end all sorts of problems it causes, including the torque tube nightmares.
