Certainly, +Tadge Juechter and +General Motors kool aid drinkers would like to attribute the truly shitty paint quality to new model first year growing paint but the evidence continues to pile on and the impossible seems to become a daily occurrence: the truly shitty paint quality the Stingray is already famous for continues to get worse, setting the new all time low with each new day.
To see this kind of paint abomination on a cheapest Kia could be very upsetting for the buyer. What on Earth excuse can Mary Barra have for this atrocity on a Chevrolet flagship car? Honestly, if someone took a shit on the hood of the new Corvette and then smear the fecal matter all over the car, there is a great chance it would look considerably better than after leaving the Bowling Green "state of the art" paint facility and after being "carefully inspected" by the eyes of allegedly "picky" quality control inspectors.
There is only one thing worse than this shitty work done by GM, the truly dumb and blind buyers who spend their money first and complain afterwards, regarding the poor quality. Are the dealers holding guns to their heads, forcing them to buy? Not a chance!!!
To come up with a paint job that looks already like a super shitty repaint, now, this is a real accomplishment. There is no doubt that the upcoming Z06 will sport just as shitty paint job, at twice of the price. The ability of GM to sell this garbage to the masses is the most impressive part of the Stingray, by a huge margin.
