If even a portion of the marketing propaganda continuously spewed up by +Tadge Juechter is true, then the only purpose for the manual shifting option on 8 speed automatic is to slow the car down. Given the complexity and number of parameters collected and processed by the on board processor, there is no way in hell a human being should be able to beat the machine.
Considering the ghastly appearance of the (fittingly enough) plastic blobs cluttering the steering wheel area, the best and simplest improvement would be removing these nausea inducing garbage. Hard to imagine any of the buyers consciously choosing the slush box spending their time defeating a concoction the current Corvette douchebag in charge continues to advertise as at the minimum, equivalent to DTC transmissions of PDK variety.
Why beat around the bush Tadge? If these idiotic paddles are present in 2015 Corvette, then all you do is contradict yourself.
And here is a thought, reserve the paddles for DTC option on Corvette, making sure that the gearing matches its manual transmission equivalent, other auto makers take this approach and drivers appreciate it, including their ability to make direct comparisons while shopping for options that suit their driving habits and styles.
Again, coming up with something innovative and creative and lacing it with some honesty certainly would be a refreshing change from the typical and unfortunately expected kool aid flavored bullshit.
