Will the 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 come with the same creaky roof as the base C7 Stingray?

This is a purely rhetorical question because of course, it will and due to increased horsepower and weight, it will creak even more.  It is very funny to see Stingray buyers who skipped the 6th generation of Corvette getting the taste of their own medicine, experiencing exactly the same creaking noises as the previous generation of the Corvette was known for.

Now good ole +Tadge Juechter and the rest of +General Motors can preach all day long how different and improved the Stingray is but the reality says otherwise-the most annoying feature of the previous generation is still there, on the brand new car.   The creaking noise is actually expected, considering that the latch system on the new car is exactly the same as the one on the previous generation.

In a nutshell, Tadge fucked up and his bullshit evaporates at the first sound of the creaking roof.  Stingray buyers are in exactly the same situation as the C6 owners, stuck in line at the dealer, hoping for a magical cure that according to GM can be found in a form of grease blobbed up all over the roof panel seals and latches, making car ownership real fun when temperatures go up in the summer and the grease starts melting and dripping.

The one difference the Stingray owners experience are considerably longer wait times at the dealer due to the ongoing safety recalls applicable to millions of older GM cars.

Now, here is the real stupid part.  The new Z06, it comes with the same creaking removable roof panel as the base car and in spite of costing considerably more than the base car, it will be creaking like there is  no tomorrow, putting the Z06 buyers in the same service line as the Stingray buyers.

As bad as the creaking noises were on the previous generation of Corvette, at least the buyers could enjoy not just lighter weight and more horsepower than the base car owners but their ownership was also creak-free because the C6 Z06 came with permanent hard top-completely creak free due to absence of the defective latching system.  Apparently Tadge decided the new Z06 buyers should experience the same creaking joy as the base buyers.   One would think that for more money, there would be a cure for the truly annoying noise but there is none.  Tough shit for the buyers!!!
