2015 Corvette C7 Stingray Performance Data Recorder Scam

There is no doubt that the +General Motors is in extortion business and strives to maximize its profits off the backs of senior citizens purchasing the newest Corvette.

The case in point, the factory navigation unit, formerly a $795 option that just became a $1795 option for 2015 model year.  How?  Certainly not by replacing the current POS navigation unit that strives to add miles to the car on the account of forcing its users to take longer routes on the account of its own decision making process.

The answer is: by lumping the navigation system with the PERFORMANCE DATA RECORD of all the possible things!!!  Yes, that's right, the senior citizens opting for navigation unit to get them to the next Cars and Coffee or spit and shine Corvette show are forced to purchase the performance data recorder or more specifically, a $10 Chinese made camera and a piece of wire since everything else is already present in their car.

Now, this is some racket!!!  Not only forcing the senile crowd to cough up another grand for the unchanged POS navigation but also forcing them to purchase an option they will never use (performance does not exist in the vocabulary of the typical Corvette buyer).

Is the PDR overpriced?  Of course it is, one can put a superior data recording system for less than 200 dollars, with considerably more flexibility and options.  However, this is not the point here, the point is that two completely unrelated and actually mutually exclusive options have been lumped together, forcing the typical weekend cruisers to cough up extra grand and those very few who may use the data recorder to pay extra $795 for the PDR.

Just optimistically assuming that someone intends to extract some performance from their Stingray, would they spend the money on navigation or would they rather spend their money on performance oriented options?  Hats off to +Tadge Juechter and the rest of the scammers for this truly ingenious piece of con art.  While Juechter will be singing the same bullshit song regarding Stingray low price, it is already obvious that GM will be making up the difference by screwing over the buyers with the very creative option packaging system.
