Buyers purchasing Corvette C7 Stingray without a test drive...

Typically, there are two types of car buyers purchasing their cars without test driving them first:

1. High priced collector cars purchased as an investment.

2. People not serious about performance driving or suitability of the car and interested more in impressing others than testing their driving skills.

As it is, the majority, over 90 percent of the Stingrays have been purchased without a test drive and the typical explanation revolves around dealers not willing to test drive the latest Corvette in fear of putting miles on a car that majority of buyers prefers to buy without any miles put on the car.

Considering that there has not been a true collector Corvette since 1967, these buyers fall into category 2, without any doubt.  Do +General Motors  and +Tadge Juechter realize this part?  Of course they do, thus, the Corvette continues to get heavier, more environmentally oriented and performance figures continue to disappear from the sales brochures.

To consider any car, designated for driving, without first testing it is a laughable notion but considering a pig in a poke style purchase for a supposedly high performance vehicle elevates the buyers and the true purpose of the purchase to the new high-level of laughter.
