If 2016 Chevrolet Camaro can lose weight, why Corvette C7 cannot follow the example?

If it was not bad enough that the fourth generation Mazda MX5 Miata designers managed to make it lose 220 pounds, now, there is another car, mocking the weight gains of the Corvette C7 porker: 2016 Chevrolet Camaro.

Based on the platform shared with Cadillac ATS, the upcoming Camaro is supposedly going to weight between 400-500 pounds which is pretty incredible.  If this will happen, the Corvette C7, especially the Z06 will be heavier than Camaro, the four seat all steel unichassis car, making a complete mockery of Corvette porker.

Interestingly, the Camaro team continues to stay away from the new 7 speed manual transmission and using SIX SPEED instead.  To add insult to injury, the new Camaro will be available with TWIN TURBO DOHC engine, courtesy of Cadillac while Corvette will rely on the obsolete supercharging set up.  Finally, the car will be smaller and more aerodynamic, again the opposite of Corvette.

Overall, while Camaro continues to make progress, Corvette remains the obsolete dinosaur.  Could this have something to do with +Tadge Juechter and his incompetence?  LOL
