As mentioned here +Tadge Juechter made a quite an interesting claim regarding the +General Motors flagship, C7 Z06: the car is optimized to sustain grueling track duty good for tank full, up to 86 degrees ambient ON MILFORD TRACK.
This is quite a claim, considering the full tank of gas on the track should be good for about 160 miles and the undeniable fact that Randy Pobst managed to put the car in the limp mode after just FOUR laps on Road Atlanta track and in 85 degrees ambient temperature. Certainly, not a good testimony to the credibility of claims coming from the current Corvette chief "engineer". Of course, Juechter has a great way out of the jam since the car is guaranteed on Milford track only. As demonstrated by the RA failure, this new claim made by Juechter is not worth jack shit, just like any others he continues to make.
Since the claim and performance is only good for Milford, forget Laguna Seca, forget Willow Springs and any other place in US then? Of course, even in Milford track, there is another problem with delivering that tank full performance, AIR HUMIDITY. Unless Juechter is really that stupid, he should well understand that the air humidity matters as much as the temperature. Why? Because the higher the humidity, the less oxygen there is in the air. Does Juechter understand this part? Has he ever given a thought to a huge puddle of water under the car when air conditioning runs under high humidity conditions? Maybe he did or maybe he did not. Maybe Tadge is comfortable with his village idiot demeanor? Without any doubt, his statement should be good enough for the usual group of Corvette buyers splitting their time between waxing their cars and holding his testicles.
Nevertheless, EVEN if ignoring the matter of humidity, there is another issue: the heat pump/supercharger and air to water intercooler. These two parts alone guarantee that it will be impossible for the Corvette Z06 in either manual or God forbid, automatic version to live up to this claim even on Milford track. Interestingly enough, Juechter as usual, claims extensive testing while offering absolutely no evidence whatsoever, especially regarding this 86 degree temperature bullshit.
And here is another hypothetical scenario: considering that for states like Florida, Arizona, Texas, California, Georgia, Louisiana temperatures can exceed that 86 degrees for at least five months per year, how is this gonna work? And how about summer temperatures combined with humidity? Obviously, as already demonstrated on Road Atlanta, humidity is a serious issue for this supercharged turd.
The biggest paradox of the Z06 is the fact there is never an optimum temperature for this car: when the temperatures are low, the tires suffer from noticeable loss of traction, thus, the car is fucked most of the year. Obviously, the car is not suitable for Georgia or Florida for any serious track driving, LOL.
Apparently this claim is good only for Milford track* course a purely RHETORICAL question since this claim is nothing less than more of the same bullshit dished out by none other than the Corvette mouthpiece extraordinaire, +Tadge Juechter . By now, this guy should be forced to answer any questions only when hooked up to the lie detector. In fact, Juechter should be motivated further by receiving serious jolts of electricity to the extra sensitive parts of his body every time he attempts to lie (again).
One cannot help but wonder if this guy continues to spew this bullshit to keep his job or due to some delusional condition but really Tadge... can't you at least make this bullshit just a bit more credible?
So
