While General Motors scram to solve the overheating issues, the weight of 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 8-speed automatic continues to go up

+Tadge Juechter must be really proud of his accomplishments, specifically the newest Corvette C7 Z06 and the mounting overheating and heat soak issues that already became the trademark of the newest overpriced disaster, courtesy of +General Motors .

If the manual version of this flagship turd is bad, the automatic version and especially the convertible versions will be the latest quintessential automotive piece of shit in a very near future.

What makes this whole thing really funny is the fact that the cures numbnut Juechter applies are worse than the disease itself.  Of course, the arrogance and limited intelligence of the Corvette engineering team firmly assures that these idiots will continue spending their time addressing the EFFECTS instead of dealing with the actual cause.  In addition to the unnecessary complexity and even less reliability than before, there is also another aspect: the weight of the Z06 porker going up.

The case in point is this new HORIZONTALLY MOUNTED front auxiliary cooler for the automatic transmission.  There is at least 30 pounds of extra dead weight between this idiotic cooler, connecting lines and adapters plus the weight of the transmission fluid.  To top it off, the weight is up front, certainly not helping the weight distribution of this porker.  On the bright side, magically enough, the weight distribution will be still claimed as 50/50 because this is what the marketing department likes to see.

Finally and without any doubt a certain thing, the proximity of the lines to the exhaust system (the same exhaust system that already precooks the occupants of the car to extra crispy variety) will certainly help with the transmission cooling as well as with the longevity of the lines themselves.

To make clear, any meaningful fix to the current engine and transmission overheating and supercharger heat soak can only be done at the expense of further weight increase, rendering the newest flagship more of a two seat Camaro instead of actual Corvette.  The refusal to apply even a trace of competent car design and engineering certainly pays great dividends, LOL.  For the convertible automatic flagship, 3700 pounds may be considered as the good times very soon.

Hopefully, after all fixes done either by the GM or the aftermarket, the weight will not exceed 4000 pounds.  If the Z06 cannot beat the Nissan GTR on the track, it should at least win at the scales, most likely being the heavier one.
