2015 Corvette C7 Z06 and C7 Stingray hatch power cinch-another General Motors failure to acknowledge failure

It appears that the resale value of 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray and 2015 C7 Stingray and Z06 just another nose dive, this time on the account of another technological breakthrough that just replaced with a piece of obsolete C6 "technology.

When the news of the newest generation of Corvette hit the automotive circles, +Tadge Juechter made a big deal out of alleged weight savings that would give the +General Motors finest a technological edge over the self imposed competition.

Although the main bullshit marketing claim revolved around that "superlight and super rigid aluminum frame", the douchebag in charge of Corvette program made sure to point out other technological "advancements" that even though not significant in the real world weight savings, could help propagate the illusion of the newest and greatest being also the lightest Corvette ever.

As expected, the final product ended up significantly heavier than any predecessors, especially the previous Corvette C6 Z06 and not only the weight savings ended up meaning absolutely jack shit but so called technological advancements became nothing short of complete failure.

The case in point is without any doubt the formerly widely advertised bimetal hatch closing assisting design.  Although made to look like the best next thing in clever car engineering, the idiotic gizmo never worked in the real life and in fact, it made the last shitty hatch, the C4 rear glass latch appear as the real technological marvel (not that the C5 was all that much better).  In real life, the aging buyers of the newest Corvette and their arthritis ridden digits and joints found the newest GM technology a total pain in the ass and impossibility redefined.

Apparently it took the Corvette team and its great leader to finally acknowledge this small but truly annoying fuck up and come up with a revision which ironically enough, uses the same set up as the supposedly obsolete C6 hatch power assist to finally remedy the failed attempt.

The stupidity of Juechter and his team shines on through here very well: it took these idiots TWO YEARS to go back to the previous design.  The question is not why so long but why someone so incompetent could be leading this newest generation of Corvette.  Perhaps Juechter does an intimate deed or two for Mary Barra?  Certainly, there is no other explanation why someone so incompetent would be still keeping his job.

Finally, even though this little episode may appear insignificant in the great scheme of things, it demonstrates one thing: the complete incompetence of the people in charge of Corvette and great insight to why the newest generation is such a failure all around.  Perhaps, in the next couple of years, Juechter will "discover" a large displacement normally aspirated engine to give it some real life track credentials?  Nah, this idiot will never get this part, at least not as long as there are kool aid drinking nut huggers embracing his incompetence and failure.
