General Motors finally discloses 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 Nurburgring lap time and it SUCKS at 7:18.72!!!

Not sure what happened here but finally and somehow without big announcement, +General Motors disclosed the Nurburgring lap time from several weeks ago and the mystery is deepening regard +Tadge Juechter statem regarding him being "pleased" with it.  Exactly which part is pleasing and what is it pleasing?

The time is absolutely horrible, failing to separate the newest Corvette flagship by the advantage of the new Michelin tires and the alleged advantage of the superior aerodynamics.

What really sucks is the fact this newest piece of shit did not even come close to the time set by the previous generation Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR.  Did the Corvette nut huggers mention outrunning Nissan GTR Nismo or even funnier, the Lamborghini?  LOL...

In the end, considering the current speed limit on Nurburgring, the joke is fully on Juechter and the flagship porker, with previous generation of Viper laughing.

Absolutely unfuckingbelievable how much of a failure this new Z06 is... Interestingly enough, the announcement does not include anything from Tadge Juechter regarding this "pleasing" time.  Did someone in GM forget to consult Juechter regarding this embarrassment?  Hmmm...

  1. Did you make this up? That link is useless?

  2. The link does not show the time. Are you sure this is correct?

    1. The announcement was there at the time this entry was written and this is the time the announcement stated very clearly. I cannot be responsible for GM pulling the entry from their website.

    2. Spoken like a typical Corvette tool and GM nut hugger. If I was making it up, I woiuld make it worse than ZR1. Obviously logic is not your strong point.

    1. I guess I should have taken a screenshot although even then, the Corvette sheep would be claiming GM website getting hacked or a fake. Maybe the press guys did not clear it with Tadge or Tadge read this entry and it did not find it "pleasing"? LOL

  4. Is that not the fastest corvette time around the ring ever though?

    1. it is. But 0.9 seconds? Slightly better tires or slightly more favourable track temperature or a slightly better line through some turns would easily get you that in the old car though. Of course, it could be argued that they got a very poor run in with the C7Z06 and a near perfect lap in the C6ZR1 but I very much doubt that (Mero has had quite a lot of practice at the ring by now, pretty sure he is consistent and that they wouldn't be satisfied with a lap that was compromised). If the time is correct, it just shows that the new car isn't really better around the ring.
A time around the 7:10 mark would have been a different story. I'm afraid though that the change in marketing from "most track capable corvette ever" to "most capable corvette ever" is an indication of the nurburgring results as well as the issues encountered by those actually taking the car to the track.

    2. I agree with you 100% sir. I'm just not sure that I would say it SUCKS. It just didn't crush the ZR1 (like everyone would have preferred)

    3. Oh, and personally I think they just eked out this barely better time, hence the multiple trips to the ring. They had to keep trying until it was faster, even it if came down to only being .01
If they had/have plans for a stingray zr1 they may have been in a better position to not have to worry about this as much. I understand getting excited about what you've created, but they have to stop shooting their mouths off before they have hard data to back it up.

    4. you're right, being quicker than 7:20 isn't really suck territory. Well, at least it wouldn't have been if it hadn't been proclaimed as being the fastest and most track capable corvette. It's all very relative. marketing should definitely have taken a different approach, especially considering how phenomenal (relatively speaking) the previous generation actually was
