The bullshit of aftermarket "safety cages" for Corvette C7 Stingray and C7 Z06 "track enthusiasts"

The lack of structural rigidity and roll over protection due to a half ass design of the newest Corvette chassis had been pointed out in this blog on several occasions, including this one.  The bottom line for Corvette C7 is the fact that just like previous generations (except for C6 ZR1 and Z06) the newest Corvettes completely lack any meaningful roll over protection.

Considering that for people like +Tadge Juechter , the ability of the newest Corvettes to carry golf clubs and accommodate physically challenged aging buyers is priority one, there is no wonder that none of the newest Corvettes, including the Z06 Walmart special come even close to providing even a fraction of track racing safety.  On the bright side, none of this should matter considering the inability of the newest Corvettes to last on the track without overheating one or another components.

However, there are a few that attempt to run these turds on the track and here come the aftermarket suppliers of that needed safety cage.

What is exactly the idea for that protection?  Well, nothing short of the funniest example of ignorance ever and even though the ignorance and stupidity of the car owner comes as no big surprise, the products offered by the aftermarket are truly jaw droppers.

The idea behind the safety cage and roll over protection is quite simple, assuring the protection for the occupants, something that typical cars lack.

There are notable exceptions, like this one, stock item that comes with the car originally and is integrated in the structure of the car

or aftermarket modifications that come pretty close, extending ABOVE the tops of the seats and heads of the occupants

and then there is the Corvette bullshit, probably the most idiotic example of dumb car owners being ripped off by the aftermarket vendors, like this one, courtesy of place called WeaponX.

What is this bullshit about?  Adding more traction to the porker or protecting the golf clubs?  Certainly this has nothing to do with the actual roll over protection and safety cage, sitting in the hatch of the newest flagship.  Apparently a make feel good and show off at Cars and Coffee bullshit and certainly a great income source for the vendor;
