Understandably, admitting to faulty seals on the half shafts in the differential on new Corvette would not increase the already sagging sales but hiding the problem may be even a worse approach. One thing is for sure, either the machining of the seal seats is defective or the seals themselves are defective. IF these seals are easily damaged during installation (prone to damage by half shaft splines), then this is a defect as well.
At this stage of the game, there is an issue with the differential regardless if this is the electronic Z51 version or the mechanical differential on the base car. Time to face the music +Tadge Juechter and +General Motors and fix this ticking time bomb once and for all. This kind of manufacturer attitude is not surprising but it is also inexcusable considering the sagging sales of the car.
