Corvette C7 Stingray "smart" bimetallic hatch close assist technology failure

As already pointed out here , adopting technologies for technology sake is right down stupid.  +Tadge Juechter prides himself on being the Corvette's technology watchdog and he certainly never has any qualms about advertising these technologies, without conducting even a tiny check of reality or God forbid, trying them out in real life.

Small annoyances can add up to big disappointments and discouragement.  The case in point is of course the oh so ironic "smart" bimetallic spring that supposedly saved weight while introducing Corvette to the modern age.

After several months, it is painfully clear that there is one thing that the bimetallic spring shares with +Tadge Juechter -a very impressive IQ number proudly hovering in the low single digits.

As the old saying states, hell is lined with good intentions and this hatch assist "revolutionary technology" is already a permanent part of that lining.

Unfortunately and in spite of just about all Stingray owners bitching full time about the failed design that makes them either roll down their windows before attempting to close the hatch or strive to become another Lou Ferrigno or Arnold Schwarzenegger, neither Tadge or the rest of the Corvette design ship of fools can locate their testicles allowing them to admit the failure and defeat.  Instead, these failed technologies, including the "smart" bimetallic spring continue to be a permanent fixture on the Stingray, apparently in the name of weight savings, while the Stingray continues to gain weight the Camaro porker style.

Absolutely amazing how idiots like Juechter get to keep their jobs while Mary Barra continues to do her recall dance on daily basis already.
