+Tadge Juechter has to be one of the dumbest car guys around, no other explanation why he would insist on remaining on board Corvette C7 program that is already well established as the most spectacular failure in +General Motors recent history since, uhm, ignition switch embarrassment or maybe Pontiac Aztek?
There is no doubt that failure rates of LT1 turds are considerably higher than what anecdotal evidence circulating on the internet would suggest since for every idiot who bought this piece of junk and then proceeded to advertise it on a car forum, there are at least 20 that never used internet and deal with their blown engine in privacy of dealership's service department manager, too busy signing consent forms for their attorneys than post their misery on car forums.
Conservatively, the current failure rates are at about TEN PERCENT of cars that actually have been driven which is beyond staggering!!! What makes it even worse is the fact that this figure will continue to grow, well beyond the recent LS7 problems.
Eventually, the press will get hold off the figures that GM tries to hide, nothing stays undiscovered forever. When this happens, Juechter will be the one person personally held liable for this fiasco. Mary Barra seems to prefer the method of singling out a few corporate numbnuts and hold them responsible for problems, just like she does with ignition switches.
The real question is, why is Tadge still hanging on to his job? The longer he waits, the more corporate indignity and public infamy he will experience when the shit literally hits Barra's office fan.
The funny part is that Tadge just does not get the fact that the Stingray show is already over, it was over when Car and Driver TWO BLOWN ENGINES happened. Other journalists will be there to make sure that this issue stays alive and they will dig until they find what they look for.
One thing is certain, as much as it sucks to be a Stingray buyer, being in Juechter's shoes sucks considerably more.
