Back in January of this year, +General Motors Corvette chief mouthpiece +Tadge Juechter started spouting off regarding the upcoming Corvette C7 Z06 as the MOST CAPABLE CORVETTE EVER. These are the exact words GM used. So how has this worked out so far?
Back in June, this blog predicted several things regard the newest Z06 and with the exception of the 0-60 time, it all apparently happened that way. At that time, the transmission gear ratios were still unknown, thus, as shorter than ZR1 first gear was announced, this explained very well why the 0-60 time was improved (for the manual transmission version since better time for auto is a given).
So far, what is the new Z06 good for then? Outside of that 0-60 time, absolutely nothing. Well, maybe for a couple of things: car wax and pain correction events along with Cars and Coffee gatherings. The car cannot sustain track duties, cannot sustain acceleration at higher speeds, and this is in winter and in its more performance oriented version (hatchback with manual transmission).
If anything else fails and the newest flagship continues to disappoint and embarrass, maybe at least Juechter can be rewarded for the biggest automotive bullshit stunt since... uhm... since DeLorean maybe?
