Aftermarket manages to accomplish the impossible-make exterior of 2015 and 2016 Corvette C7 look worse

If there is a phrase to describe the exterior of the latest generation of Corvette, VISUAL ABORTION comes to mind instantly.  And no, the latest Corvette does not look like shit due to function taking precedence over the form, it looks like shit for no reason (other than lack of design talent from designers employed by +General Motors ).

However, if the base car looks like shit, the appearance of the current Corvette flagship, Z06 creates a new standard in the visual abortion category.  Yes, it is so fucked up and so cheap looking, a collection of cheap pieces of plastic and overall design knocked out as a high school auto shop project, sponsored by JC Whitney and Pep Boys.

Nevertheless, is it possible to fuck up this already horrible exterior even more?  Seems like an impossible task but apparently nothing the aftermarket could not handle (unlike the overheating issues).

As mentioned on this blog in the past, a place called Apsis (US based front for a Chinese sweat shop) took upon itself the daunting task of fucking up the front so called fender extensions/air curtains and combine them with the splash guards for that uniform look, a tribute that Bushwacker folks certainly did not invite.

Here is a closer look at the Chinese take on Bushwacker take on Corvette, for 1400 bucks per pair.

As indicated before, the factory design is a true piece of shit, wheel well liner extension instead of a legitimate flare that shouild coincide with the wheel well arch instead of being located underneath.

Instead of putting some thinking into this effort and at least justify the obscene cost through improvement, there is none and the cure is worse than GM disease.

Not sure how Chinese do it but somehow whoever designed this piece of shit lost the curvature along the way and created a very peculiar overall inner curve that actually has a transition point along the way, actually making it easy to figure out where the original splash guard and that idiotic extension began.

Then there is the matter of the interface between these pieces of shit and the side skirts.  As a matter of fact there is none, one piece of junk literally slapped on top of another.

How do you do it correctly?  Like this as a matter of fact.  Is it difficult?  Not at all, all it takes is some design imagination which apparently Chinese lack completely.  How do I know?  I build stuff like this myself, including this piece.  Would I just throw some shit together instead of coming up with an integrated design?  Absolutely not.

Of course Corvette owners have skills worth jack shit, not extending beyond applicatioin of wax or thread coloring using sharpie, thus they have no real choice except for relying on others who sell them this shit.

Like with anything else dished out at these idiots, there should be a few buying this junk.  As impossible as it may sound, they will make their cars look even worse, LOL.
