There is car aftermarket and then there is car aftermarket. The usual car aftermarket is driven by profit and ability to produce so called "improvements" quickly, not just to address the enthusiasts needs but also cash in on the initial wave of interest. These "leaders" take as little time as possible to design what they produce and sell and it shows. Just like in these two examples.
The first example is the ever popular front splitter that not only does absolutely nothing aerodynamically (unless turbulence is a good thing?) but also looks like shit, regardless of who designed it. The inability of the aftermarket to actually design a Stingray splitter that would at least look decent is absolutely astonishing. Apparently there is nobody who can take the time to blend the splitter with the front bumper? The red arrow shows the truly awful design that of course causes aerodynamic problems as well.
And here is another example of shitty aftermarket manufacturing, no doubt a pricy exhaust system that includes tips as misaligned as the factory parts or even worse. Is there a competition going on between the aftermarket and +General Motors to find out who can hit the lower quality bottom while collecting money from Corvette buyers? This exhaust would make +Tadge Juechter and UAW proud, LOL.
