By now, it is already painfully obvious that without meaningful upgrades to the basic components of the +General Motors flagship, any claims +Tadge Juechter or anyone else in +General Motors makes regarding this piece of junk as the most capable track machine Corvette name ever carried are nothing less than a fraudulent marketing scheme and Juechter's wishful thinking.
To make the new Z06 perform on the track, not just upgrades but serious revisions to the cooling system, engine cooling and of course, that POS supercharger are a true no brainer.
The problem here is that the new LT4 engine already has a high probability of self destructing in completely stock form, the problems with quality of components, precision of their machining and questionable reliability of the "new technologies" makes ownership of these turds a true case of automotive Russian roulette.
Considering this background, the question is: will the buyers of the pretty expensive car, with the engine costing close to 25 grand (without necessary labor) risk learning a costly lesson after GM dealership expectantly points to aftermarket parts as the PERCEIVED culprit of engine overheating or mechanical failure (watch out for those underdesigned main bearings, LOL) and refuses to honor any warranty claims?
Why would Juechter make those statements mentioning AFTERMARKET as the source of necessary improvements? Is Juechter baiting the buyers, trying to find an easy way out for GM to avoid costly failures and associated bad publicity?
Unfortunately, this is exactly what the most plausible scenario would be. After all, a leak in aftermarket engine cooler or even a line leading to it or cracked aftermarket radiator leading to overheating engine and subseaquent engine destruction cannot be blamed on GM, can they?
And how about a better supercharger or even intercooler, with the necessary "tune" causing engine detonation and resulting engine failure?
Seems like General Motors found a perfect recipe for a supercar that supposedly can while it really can't and if it can be made to deliver, it would be strictly at the risk of the owner. Absolutely brilliant!!!
The interesting point with the new flagship is the fact that there are no OEM upgrades available for this turd, absolutely nothing, NADA!!! Even the supposedly track package, Z07 includes absolutely not a single item that could provide at least a partial remedy to the issues so easy to notice on the new Z06.
One would think that offering these upgrades would provide a nice extra income to GM so the real question is why there is nothing available? Certainly, this could not be the result of full knowledge that the car cannot be improved sufficiently, without risking serious damage to the drivetrain? Certainly, considering the luck of the draw quality of aftermarket parts and limited R&D budget most of these aftermarket geniuses have, something to consider before implementing these "improvements". Kudos to GM and Juechter for such an innovating scheme.
