According to +General Motors very creative marketing department and of course, the chief ( or is more like CHEF, cooking up bullshit stew?) "engineer" +Tadge Juechter , the latest Corvette Z06 is the pinnacle of GM engineering and design, offering "lucky" buyers a true bargain, in both performance and style departments. In fact, the newest flagship is supposed to shame not just lower end performance cars such as "lowly" Porsches, BMW's and Jaguars but actual exotics such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
Perhaps this is an ongoing joke aimed at mindless and typically, senile "core buyers" of Corvettes altogether? Surely, this must be the case, considering the overheating problems, truly shameful paint and to complete the picture, cramped "world class" interior that not only is a direct throwback to C4 days but one that also warps and literally falls apart at will.
Now, considering the waxer mentality of the Corvette buyers, seeing that world class interior literally coming apart at the seams (more like glue lines) must be truly disheartening to someone who takes extra care to not just shelter the new pride and joy in the garage but sensually and obsessively apply multiple coats of paint sealant, wax and only the finest upholstery conditioners.
Like with the Stingray, there is only one certainity for the Z06 buyers: good paint finish quality is a matter of outdated vision correction prescription and problems with interior durability are a matter of WHEN instead of IF (with that WHEN part coming considerably sooner than for even a Kia econo bod).
As shown here, the hastily applied exterior paint simply refuses to cure quickly enough to prevent damage and drips, just like the infamous orange peel is the order of the day.
Should defects like the ones shown in the picture be found on a 100k "flagship", with the dealer indisciminantly allowing unsuspecting buyers to buy a piece of shit that makes UAW work pride a quintessential oxymoron? Only if this a GM product apparently!!!
And how about that world class upholstery that by all accounts should be outstanding on something considered a flagship? Seeing the alleged leather seat covering happily walking away from the rest of the seat should anyone think twice before even test driving this "pinnacle".
