This is yet to be seen and hopefully none, since seeing the attitude of +General Motors toward owners with problems related to track events, they most likely would be SOL.
The real question here is regarding the track event organizers checking so called track preparation steps that should be implemented by car owners. Will the NCM staff bother to check or perhaps even offer these services to the silver haired racing wannabes?
Here is an interesting tidbit of misinformation: NCM offers track insurance to the Corvette owners, HOWEVER, this insurance covers collisions only and thus, should an engine fire happen due to blown motor, this insurance will not cover any damage related to it. In fact, there is no insurance available that will cover engine compartment fire during a track event. Thus, if the connecting rods get a wish to grasp some fresh air through the engine block walls and catch a flame on the way, it will be entirely up to the owner to deal with the consequences.
Again, neither existing car insurance or this new scam from NCM will cover the burning scenario.
Hopefully, nobody will have to learn the reality the hard way but certainly, it should be very interesting to see what happens.
One thing to keep in mind is that would be a great way for +General Motors to eliminate a few of the defective LT1 turds, without paying for replacements or repairs. Is this a trap for the gullible buyers? As long as the speeds are kept below 60 mph, they should be ok, LOL.
